Job Description
Radiology Tech - CT Tech
Position Overview
Perform computed tomography imaging studies, positioning patients, operating CT equipment, and ensuring image quality and patient safety.
Collaborate with radiologists and technologists to deliver accurate, timely CT exams and optimize dose management.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients and position for CT scans; select appropriate protocols
  • Operate CT scanner, acquire images, and adjust parameters for optimal results
  • Monitor patient status, manage contrast administration if applicable, and ensure safety
  • Review images for quality and communicate findings to radiologists
  • Document procedures and ensure proper labeling and archiving in the EMR
  • Maintain equipment, perform routine maintenance, and report malfunctions
  • Adhere to radiation safety protocols and dose optimization guidelines
  • Assist with scheduling and coordination of CT services
Qualifications
Education:
Radiologic Technologist degree with CT imaging training
Licensure:
State licensure as a radiologic technologist
Certifications:
  • ARRT CT certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience or Skills:
2+ years performing CT imaging; strong attention to detail and patient interaction skills
Experience
  • CT imaging experience in hospital or outpatient settings
  • Experience with contrast protocols and radiation safety
Preferred
  • Experience with multidetector CT and advanced protocols
Work Environment
Imaging department environment with fast-paced workflow and collaboration with radiologists
Documentation in EMR and PACS with emphasis on patient safety
