The Position: We're looking for a Technology Engineer -- Vision and Adhesive Process Technologies
The Technology Engineer is to ensure will be responsible for initial setup of multiple process technologies: Vision, Dispensing, Laser, Adhesive/Joining in robot automation applications. Responsible to drive the integration from Proposal phase and throughout project Execution phase (design, procurement, manufacturing, in-house integration, installation at customer site) up to final acceptance. Works in full cooperation with Comau project Team (including team members from Engineering, Project and Site Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing) and Customer project team representatives. Technology Engineers will travel when necessary as a member of the Commissioning & Site team.

Responsibilities:
In this role the ideal candidate will act as a network and think innovatively while executing the following responsibilities:
  • Validation of innovative solutions,
  • Identifies opportunities and recommends changes that improve productivity, reduce cost, eliminate waste and improve the overall business,
  • Define the hardware & software configuration of the integrated machines (electrical and fluidic interfaces),
  • Direct the integration and installation of Comau Systems on Customer site; cooperating with team to fix problems arisen on site,
  • Programming and tuning the technology parameters in order to get the requested product quality,
  • Act as technical interface to customer,
  • Provide the customers trainings to provide the information for a correct maintenance,
  • Maintain good relationships with customers through quick effective feedback,
  • After Sales support
  • Be involved in Handover phase with Engineering and collaborate to Identify new project risks
  • Focused on Time and Cost Management and
  • Configure, start-up and debug systems Networks, I/O and Communication.
  • Configure the auxiliary equipment
  • Validation and debug of Safety features (if applicable)
  • Guarantee whole system functionalities respecting cycle-time and product quality
  • Create documentation compliant with customer commissioning standard

Requirements:
This role is best suited for a candidate that possess the following qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma, GED or the equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing industrial automation system experience in commissioning Vision, Dispensing, Joining and Robot Automation process technologies.
  • A working knowledge of Vision, Dispensing, Laser, adhesive joining systems and Robot Automation technologies.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically (20-- 50%) outside of metro Detroit area

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associates or Bachelor's Degree or Certification in Engineering or Technology
  • Expertise in Vision and Adhesive technologies in Robot Automation applications.
