Position Overview
As an IT Associate, your role involves providing day-to-day operational support for existing infrastructure services and desktop systems. This includes tasks such as backup and restore processes, tape handling, inventory management, and maintaining service ticket records. Additionally, you'll monitor and maintain infrastructure software platforms, manage user/password compliance for manufacturing/laboratory system, and oversee the company's IT network, servers, and security systems. Your responsibilities extend to investigating network issues, collecting usage statistics, recommending system improvements, and performing routine configuration and installation of IT solutions. Collaborating with relevant teams to address incidents and create viable workarounds is also part of your service delivery responsibilities.
Job Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for existing infrastructure services and desktop support including tasks such as backup and restore, tape handling, inventory management, and maintaining service ticket records.
  • Provide first-level technical support for hardware, software, network, and server-related issues. Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, and other IT equipment.
  • Administer and monitor LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi networks, VPN connectivity, routers, switches, and firewalls. Install, configure, maintain, and monitor Windows and/or Linux servers.
  • Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file sharing, and user authentication services.
  • Create, modify, and manage user accounts, passwords, access permissions, and email accounts.
  • Monitor server performance, storage capacity, and system availability, and perform routine maintenance.
  • Install operating system updates, security patches, firmware updates, and antivirus solutions on endpoints and servers.
  • Perform server backups, data restoration, and support disaster recovery and business continuity processes.
  • Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and resolve connectivity issues.
  • Maintain IT inventory, software licenses, asset records, and technical documentation.
  • R espond to help desk tickets and resolve issues within agreed service levels.
  • Coordinate with vendors for hardware repairs, server maintenance, and software licensing.
  • Implement and maintain cybersecurity controls, including endpoint protection, access control, and security monitoring.
  • Assist with virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar) and cloud services such as Microsoft 365 and Azure/AWS, where applicable.
  • Provide user training and guidance on IT systems, security awareness, and organizational IT policies.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in an Information Technology-related field (minimum four years of study). (Required)
  • Relevant certifications would be advantageous.
  • 3+ years of experience in IT HelpDesk.

Knowledge and Skills
  • Minimum of three years� experience in managing server infrastructures and data center operations.
  • Proficient with Windows servers.
  • Skilled in system and network configuration, systems installation, and upgrades.
  • Familiar with LAN/WAN networking.
  • Experienced in SAN and database administration.
  • Proficient in IT helpdesk operations and technical support.
  • Capable of managing and supporting equipment validation/qualification (CSV).
  • Ability to manage complex projects.
  • Competence in overseeing a small data center.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Adherence to project timelines and completion targets.
