Responsibilities

Radiology Tech:

Under the direct supervision of the Radiology Team Leader and physician reading the exam, performs routine radiographic procedures utilizing all standards for quality and radiation protection.  Provides personalized care, recognizing the worth and dignity of each patient.  Performs technical procedures under supervision while using independent judgment.  Handles confidential information regarding patient records.  Will perform all work with acccord to the mission, vision, and values of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.  Radiographers will work set days and hours during the week.  If some shifts are not staffed, then work schedules may change.  The Radiology Team Leader will arrange the work schedule to make sure that patients will receive high quality radiology procedures 24 hours a day.   

CT Tech:

Under the supervision of the Radiology Team Leader and physicians reading the procedures, performs CT examinations utilizing all standards for quality and radiation protection.  Performs a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation to obtain CT images.  Handle confidential information and patient records.  Will perform all work with accord to the missions, vision, and values of the Oklahoma Heart Hospital.  The CT Technologists will work set schedules during the week, unless some shifts are not covered and then schedules may be changed.  The Radiology Team Leader is responsible to make sure that patients receive high quality CT procedures 24 hours a day and the CT technologists need to be flexible with working different shifts.  Call will also be required when there is not a radiographer that is capable of performing CT scans during the weeknights or weekends.


Qualifications

Education: Two year AMA approved program in Radiologic Technology, Associate or baccalaureate degree.

Licensure/Certification:   Certification with the ARRT, or for CT tech,  CT registered or registry eligible.  Current BLS certification.

Experience: Six (6) months experience is preferred.

Working Knowledge: Performs at a proficient level all radiology procedures and other tasks needed within the radiology department. Can operate all of the radiology equipment and the PACS System in a safe and appropriate manner. Capable of performing the necessary functions on OHH’s computer system.

Essential Technical/Motor Skills: Can manipulate the patient’s position and the radiology equipment to perform high quality images. Capable of sending high quality images from the radiology equipment to the PACS System and completing the exams in EPIC System.
