Job description

Technology Alignment Specialist

Position Summary

The Technology Alignment Specialist (TAS) plays a key role in ensuring client technology environments align with ActaMSP’s established standards, best practices, and technology stack.

This position works closely with Technology Service Delivery Managers (TSDMs), senior technical team members, service delivery teams, and other stakeholders to assess technology environments, identify gaps and risks, implement standardized solutions, and continuously improve operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate combines strong analytical and detail-oriented thinking with excellent communication and business translation skills. This individual should be comfortable evaluating complex technical environments while also being able to clearly communicate technical findings, risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications & Core Competencies

Strong Analytical & Detail-Oriented Thinking

The Technology Alignment Specialist must be able to assess complex IT environments, compare them against established standards, and identify potential gaps, inconsistencies, and risks. This requires:

  • Careful evaluation of infrastructure, security, configurations, and technical processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify inconsistencies or risks that may otherwise be overlooked.
  • Structured and methodical thinking when assessing environments and documenting findings.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • The ability to translate assessment findings into clear, actionable recommendations.

Strong analytical skills ensure technology alignment reviews are accurate, consistent, reliable, and actionable.

Excellent Communication & Business Translation Skills

Because this position bridges technical assessment and strategic decision-making, the Technology Alignment Specialist must communicate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders. This includes:

  • Translating technical issues and risks into understandable business impact.
  • Clearly communicating priorities, risks, findings, and recommended improvements.
  • Collaborating effectively with Technology Service Delivery Managers, senior technical team members, service delivery teams, and clients.
  • Providing clear communication regarding technology changes that may affect team members or clients.
  • Maintaining thorough and accurate technical documentation.

Strong communication ensures that technology alignment efforts result in measurable improvements rather than documentation alone.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Standards & Best-Practice Alignment

  • Partner with Technology Service Delivery Managers to develop, maintain, and continuously improve ActaMSP’s technology standards library.
  • Conduct regular assessments of internal technical tools and client technology environments.
  • Compare systems, configurations, tools, and processes against established ActaMSP technology standards and best practices.
  • Identify technology gaps, inconsistencies, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Document findings and provide clear, actionable recommendations for remediation and improvement.
  • Assist Technology Service Delivery Managers with the development and maintenance of standardized client onboarding and offboarding checklists and documentation requirements.
  • Develop clear, step-by-step procedures for deploying and maintaining the ActaMSP technology stack.
  • Deploy ActaMSP-approved technology tools and solutions to appropriate client environments based on direction from the Technology Service Delivery Manager.
  • Work with Technology Service Delivery Managers to ensure the appropriate technology tools are deployed based on each client's needs and requirements.
  • Develop automated processes for deploying and maintaining technology-stack standards.
  • Identify opportunities to automate troubleshooting, documentation, remediation, and other recurring technical processes.
  • Leverage AI tools and technologies, where appropriate, to improve operational efficiency, consistency, documentation, troubleshooting, and service delivery.
  • Maintain, refine, and continuously improve ActaMSP’s technology standards and associated documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior technical team members to implement technology changes, improvements, and new standards.
  • Provide timely and thorough communication to affected team members when changes to tools, systems, standards, or processes may impact their work.

What Success Looks Like

A successful Technology Alignment Specialist helps create consistent, secure, well-documented, and supportable technology environments across ActaMSP and its clients. This individual proactively identifies opportunities for improvement, strengthens technology standards, increases automation, and ensures technical recommendations are clearly communicated and successfully implemented.
