Position: IT Project Manager IV

Location: Atlanta, GA
Contract: 6 Months 
Client: Southern Company Services.

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager IV with 10+ years of IT project management experience to lead the delivery of complex technology initiatives in a fast-paced enterprise environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in program/delivery management, Scrum Master responsibilities, release coordination, Agile delivery, stakeholder management, dependency tracking, and executive-level communication. This role requires the ability to manage ambiguity, drive decisions, and ensure technology deliverables remain aligned with business needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional delivery of technology projects and initiatives.
  • Define project scope, goals, milestones, deliverables, tasks, and resource requirements.
  • Manage projects from concept through implementation.
  • Lead sprint planning, stand-up meetings, and Agile delivery ceremonies.
  • Collaborate with technical, product, and business teams to break complex projects into prioritized action plans.
  • Track project status, progress, risks, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Create clear visibility for stakeholders and leadership regarding project progress.
  • Identify and manage cross-team dependencies, risks, and blockers.
  • Develop and drive mitigation plans to keep projects on track.
  • Coordinate releases across multiple teams, platforms, and environments.
  • Support operational readiness and smooth release execution.
  • Facilitate communication between business, technical, product, and leadership teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant IT project management experience.
  • Strong analytical and project management skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize, track, and deliver results.
  • Experience in a hybrid role involving:
    • Program / Delivery Management
    • Scrum Master responsibilities
    • Release Management
  • Strong knowledge of Agile delivery methods including Scrum, Kanban, and Lean.
  • Ability to adapt Agile frameworks to fit business and project needs.
  • Strong dependency management and stakeholder influence skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executives and cross-functional teams.
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and making decisions with incomplete information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in a fast-paced enterprise IT environment.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and release coordination.
  • Experience coordinating technology releases across multiple teams and environments.
  • Strong understanding of operational readiness and production support processes.
  • Experience working with technical teams, product owners, business stakeholders, and senior leadership.
