What is a technical translator?

As a technical translator, your responsibilities are to translate technical documents such as machine instructions into a different language. Your duties may require you to interpret industry-specific terms that do not have an equivalent in a different language, select new terminology, and learn more about the materials you are translating. You also proofread reports, frequently communicate with the original developers to verify that translations are accurate, and ensure all content is translated on tight deadlines. Technical translations are needed for many languages, including Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, Italian, and Arabic, so the industry strongly prefers applicants who are fluent in more than two languages.

What skills and qualifications are needed to thrive as a technical translator?

To thrive as a Technical Translator, you need fluency in at least two languages along with a strong understanding of specialized terminology in fields such as engineering, IT, or science. Familiarity with computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools, terminology management systems, and relevant translation certifications are typically required. Attention to detail, cultural sensitivity, and effective communication are essential soft skills for accurately conveying complex information. These competencies ensure precise, clear, and contextually appropriate translations that support global collaboration and reduce the risk of critical misunderstandings.

How does a technical translator typically collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts during the translation process?

Technical Translators frequently work closely with engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts to ensure that complex technical concepts are accurately conveyed in the target language. This often involves attending meetings, reviewing source materials, and clarifying terminology or context to produce precise translations. Open communication is essential, as translators may need to resolve ambiguities or adapt localized content for specific audiences, making collaboration a key aspect of the role. This teamwork not only improves translation quality but also expands the translator’s technical knowledge and professional network.

Job description

We look at our global digital footprint not as a collection of static web pages, but as a dynamic growth engine that requires continuous iteration, precision tuning, and visionary leadership. As our Manager of Web Experience, you will approach the website with the exact mindset of a software product owner: balancing a high-impact roadmap, navigating competing stakeholder priorities with sharp judgment, and maintaining an uncompromising standard for execution quality. Your ultimate end goal is to craft a seamless digital journey that transforms casual visitors into highly qualified pipeline and closed won deals.

This isn't a passive webmaster or routine ticketing role. We are looking for a highly analytical builder who can establish a clear digital vision, diagnose hidden performance bottlenecks, and rapidly prototype web upgrades using a modern stack of front-end tech, experimentation platforms, and behavioral analytics.  While you will inherit a mature enterprise ecosystem running on Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) with Edge Delivery Services, you will have the unique opportunity to build a team of high-performing individuals responsible for everything from foundational technical governance and global discoverability to cutting-edge user experience and conversion optimization.

What You'll Do:Team Leadership and Growth
  • Build the Squad: Direct the hiring, onboarding, and professional development of a specialized team covering front-end development and web operations to scale in-house production capabilities.
  • Agency Management: Act as the strategic product owner for external development resources and specialized SEO consultants, keeping projects on time, on budget, and up to enterprise-level quality standards.

Web Performance, Optimization, and Analytics:

  • Architect the Testing Culture: Design and execute complex A/B testing and personalization strategies using Adobe Target to serve tailored site versions and scientifically improve conversion rates across the buyer journey.
  • Uncover Actionable Insights: Monitor website traffic and user behavior through Adobe Customer Journey Analytics, conducting weekly reporting and ad-hoc analysis to identify trends, performance dips, or attribution anomalies.

Website Content Management and Operations:

  • Drive Next-Gen Content Lifecycle: Manage the end-to-end content lifecycle by authoring and updating our Adobe Experience Manager CMS with Edge Delivery Services, serving as the primary architect of the content hierarchy.
  • Launch High-Impact Campaigns: Partner with demand generation and product marketing to execute new microsite requests and landing pages to support quarterly promotions.
  • Agile Backlog Grooming: Manage intake and execution of requests from Product, Customer, and Field Marketing teams via Asana and Jira, acting as the primary gatekeeper to ensure timely delivery without compromising site health.

SEO/GEO Strategy and Technical Governance:

  • Search and Generative Optimization: Collaborate with external partners to align on keyword strategies and aggressively resolve technical issues to optimize for traditional and AI search engines.
  • Scale Global Reach: Manage global website translations via proxy platforms like Smartling GDN, ensuring strict adherence to translation glossaries and compliance across localized regions.
  • Privacy by Design: Maintain website infrastructure by overseeing accurate cookie consent classification through Osano or OneTrust to ensure GDPR and CCPA compliance.
What You'll Bring:
  • B2B SaaS Track Record: 8+ years of experience in web operations, conversion rate optimization, or digital marketing operations in a high-growth B2B SaaS environment with 2+ years of people management.
  • AEM Mastery: Deep expertise in Adobe Experience Manager, with a proven history of authoring and managing pages in enterprise or headless environments.
  • Experimentation Native: Strong proficiency in A/B testing and personalization tools, with a proven track record of designing and executing experiments to drive conversion optimization.
  • Data Literacy: Proficiency in web analytics and heatmapping platforms to analyze user behavior, traffic trends, and session recordings for actionable insights.
  • Technical Translator: Strong understanding of web development languages (HTML/CSS/JavaScript) to effectively communicate with development teams regarding UAT, technical debt, and bug reporting.
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with proficiency in ticketing and workflow tools such as Jira and Asana to manage cross-functional requests and development escalations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience managing website localization and translation workflows, specifically using proxy platforms and maintaining global translation glossaries.
  • Familiarity with web infrastructure and performance tools, including Cloudflare for CDN management and handling redirects.
  • Knowledge of privacy compliance and consent management platforms, including understanding cookie classification.
