Job description

Petit Clair is a growing children’s fashion brand known for timeless style, quality craftsmanship, and attention to detail. With a strong direct-to-consumer presence and 8 retail locations, we are continuing to expand our technical design and product development team.

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Technical Designer to support the development process from concept through production.

We are open to candidates ranging from:

  • Associate / Junior Technical Designers looking to grow
  • Mid-Level Technical Designers
  • Senior Technical Designers with strong factory communication and ownership experience

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical side of apparel development and thrives in a fast-paced environment working closely with factories, design, and production teams.

Responsibilities Include:

✔ Creating and maintaining tech packs, specs, grading, BOMs, and construction details

✔ Reviewing designs and identifying missing or unclear technical information prior to factory submission

✔ Managing communication and follow-up with overseas factories

✔ Owning development timelines from proto through production readiness

✔ Participating in fittings and providing actionable fit comments

✔ Tracking styles, comments, and approvals within PLM systems

✔ Ensuring accuracy, organization, and execution throughout the development process

Qualifications:

  • Experience in technical design and/or apparel development
  • Strong understanding of garment construction, fit, and production processes
  • Experience working with overseas factories preferred
  • Proficiency in PLM systems, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator
  • Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple styles and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
