Job description

Job Title: Service Manager Location: Nashville, Tennessee Type: Direct Hire Compensation: $76,000.00 - $102,000.00 Contractor Work Model: Onsite – onsite

Overview The Service Manager is responsible for all field labor, materials, profit, loss, project performance, and safety as well as managing all field labor, subcontractors, and vendors in collaboration with the Services business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all field labor, materials, profit, loss, project performance, and safety in collaboration with the Services business unit
  • Ensure financial expectations and budgets are met or exceeded, monitor pricing, and review cost data with the Business Unit Manager
  • Maintain and monitor cash position of the business unit
  • Resolve dollar disputes between estimates and actual costs
  • Build and sustain customer relationships to ensure complete satisfaction
  • Manage dispatch procedures and effective communication with field staff resources
  • Oversee all field labor, develop service teams, and define roles and responsibilities
  • Coordinate hiring, performance reviews, salary changes, personnel issues, and talent development with the Business Unit Manager
  • Initiate technician labor productivity improvements and ensure quality standards and project requirements are met
  • Estimate service repair and replacement projects
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Safety and Risk Management protocols, including oversight of contracts, change orders, and insurance
  • Assist with quality control on service jobs and maintain employee morale and retention
  • Maintain inventory and procurement for service vehicles
  • Oversee continuing education programs and onboarding for service personnel
  • Conduct project kick-off meetings and coordinate with subsidiaries and vendors
  • Assist with development of estimation software and technology tools
  • Participate in staff meetings to address management issues and improve training, safety, and productivity
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in the service industry
  • Organized and self-motivated with team leadership skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Industry knowledge and understanding of competitors
  • Ability to multitask and perform duties outside of scope as needed
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical or business discipline (preferred)
