AiM Technical Service Specialist & Trackside Technician
The AiM Technical Service Specialist & Trackside Technician provides technical support, diagnostics, repair services, and trackside assistance for the AiM Sports product line. Working directly with racers, race teams, dealers, and customers, this position helps install, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain AiM data acquisition systems. While the role includes travel to motorsports events throughout the year, the majority of time is spent in the office supporting customers and servicing equipment.
Primary Responsibilities
Technical Support & Customer Service
- Provide technical support by phone and email for the complete AiM product line.
- Assist customers with installation, configuration, firmware updates, and RaceStudio3 software.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, sensor, and communication issues.
- Answer technical questions and provide clear, practical solutions.
- Maintain communication with customers throughout the support and repair process.
Product Diagnostics & Repair
- Repair a wide range of AiM products
- Perform component-level repairs including replacement of damaged screens, buttons, PCB boards, connectors, batteries, and other internal electronic components.
- Diagnose failures related to power issues, communication problems, display faults, input failures, sensor connections, and internal electronic damage.
- Perform firmware updates, factory resets, functional testing, and quality inspections to verify proper operation before returning equipment to customers.
- Evaluate warranty and non-warranty repairs, document repair findings, and maintain accurate service records.
System Configuration & Data Acquisition
- Configure data loggers, dashes, GPS systems, cameras, PDMs, sensors, and CAN devices.
- Assist customers with CAN Bus communication, ECU integration, sensor calibration, and custom channel setup.
- Verify complete system operation before equipment is returned to the customer.
Trackside Technical Support
- Travel to motorsports events to provide on-site technical support for racers, race teams, and dealers.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and repair AiM equipment at the track.
- Help customers resolve technical issues quickly to minimize downtime during race weekends.
- Represent AiM Sports professionally while offering on-site technical support. Regularly traveling and working weekends to support race events.
