Job description

About this role:

The Technical Service Account Manager brings relevant technical knowledge to customer accounts, helping translate complex client needs into customized solutions. Acting as both a technical advisor and sales representative, the Technical Service Account Manager identifies growth opportunities, supports product customization, and builds trusted partnerships.

Accountabilities:

  • Serve as a technical consultant for the assigned accounts, understanding client needs to develop product solutions and applications that align with specifications and performance requirements.

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including teams in Innovation,R&D and Sales & Account Management, to communicate client requirements and support the creation of tailored product solutions and applications.

  • Present technical insights to clients within the assigned accounts, articulating the benefits and applications of solutions while addressing potential concerns.

  • Proactively identify opportunities for product or service upsell, leveraging comprehensive technical knowledge to illustrate the value of enhanced or additional offerings.

  • Maintain detailed account records for the dedicated part of the portfolio, ensuring accuracy in customer information, needs and preferences for long-term relationship building.

  • Support the sales process by contributing to customized sales strategies within the team, based on technical understanding and client requirements.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of relationship management, sales and a key technical/scientific discipline within Technical Service, with full knowledge of methodologies, processes, practices, and atypical issues within Technical Service function.

  • Largely able to operate independently, though may seek guidance on atypical or complex Technical Service issues. Able to coach juniors on technical and operational matters in a specialism.

  • Accountable for own targets and reviewing work of juniors.

  • Frequently conducts detailed analysis and investigation to identify customized solutions for customers, determine best options, or suggest improvements to existing methods.

  • This role involves initiating communication with cross-functional teams to address and resolve shared issues, collaborate on processes or transactions, and interpret or clarify technical information to enhance understanding.

Tate & Lyle complies with all local/state regulations requiring salary range transparency. When determining final compensation, we take into consideration: skillset, job scope, knowledge, prior experience, cost of living, market data, budget availability, and other factors as permitted by law.

The salary range for this position is: $71,000 - $104,000.
