The Sales Project Manager is responsible for managing new equipment sales projects from initial customer requirements through successful execution and delivery. In this role, you will serve as a trusted partner to mission-critical data center customers, providing responsive, technically informed sales support focused on uptime, reliability, and long-term customer success. Success requires strong consultative selling skills, the ability to understand and interpret technical power and generator specifications, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work closely with customers and cross-functional teams to translate complex requirements into accurate solutions, proactively address challenges, and ensure a seamless customer experience throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
  • Provide project management support for activities related to new equipment sales.
  • Proactively develop, grow, and retain a portfolio of data center customers through consultative outbound sales efforts
  • Provide administrative support and work/cost estimates as may be required to the sales team. Manage the full sales lifecycle (calls, email, web chat), ensuring timely response to customer inquiries, quotes, and order processing
  • Deliver accurate, detail-oriented quoting aligned to data center requirements (power needs, redundancy, voltage, transfer switches, and fuel sources) Review sales contracts to ensure correctness of technical specifications and appropriateness of commercial terms.
  • Upon assignment of a project, utilize the software available to establish budget, issue purchase orders requests and monitor project financials.
  • Supports sales leadership and account managers on their interactions with external customers and other internal stakeholders, like commercial operations, project management and/or finance
  • Resolve customer issues with urgency, minimizing operational disruption for mission-critical environments
  • Ensure quality control by requesting factory test reports and Operation and Maintenance manuals from the manufacturer. Educate customers on tools, resources, and best practices to ensure correct product selection and long-term performance
  • Supports post-onboarding engagement, ensuring customers leverage programs, tools, and services effectively
  • Maintain and provide documentation to customers as applicable to work scope and contract requirements.
  • Update information on Generac's sales and marketing platforms
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to keep up with current technology and products we sell.
  • Clearly understand and document customers' definition and expectation of quality and cascade to operations and program team members.

Minimum Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in an electrical or mechanical technical field or equivalent experience
  • Four (4) years' experience in construction industry
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, organization, and decision-making skills with a customer-first mindset.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, shifting deadlines, and high-urgency requests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated consultative sales capabilities and ability to interpret technical specifications related to power generation and data center applications.
  • Highly detail-oriented, self-driven, and adaptable, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively while remaining composed under pressure.
