Batteries Plus - Retail Sales Associate, Including Mgmt. Trainee Career Opportunities
Do you enjoy helping customers find the right products, services, and solutions for problems that they are looking to get help with? At Batteries Plus Bulbs, we have a fun and exciting team atmosphere where customers come in looking to get help with the things they rely on every day, and you get to be their hero! Through the training we provide, you will learn how to take the necessary time and ask the right questions to really understand what the customers' needs are and then provide a much-appreciated solution. This opportunity will allow you to regularly use your mind, your technical know-how, and your desire to help make your customers' day, and at the same time earn a good living.
Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
Our pay structure is a combination of a base hourly rate, individual and team sales incentives, plus 'per piece' earnings for specific installs and repairs. We provide a $22.00 per hour minimum pay guarantee during your first 6 months, so that you have the time to really learn our business. If you perform at a higher level than the guaranteed minimum during the first 6 months, you will earn more than this guarantee. High-performing sales associates earn over $25 per hour.
Weekend Shift Differential Pay: In retail, being open on weekends is a must. We provide a $2 per hour pay increase for all weekend shift hours worked. If you are working overtime on the weekend shifts, we provide a $3 per hour pay increase for overtime weekend hours worked.
Training: No prior experience with our products or services is required, as we will take care of the training; all you need is a background in customer service and sales. For the first 2 to 3 weeks, we will provide dedicated one-on-one paid training for this opportunity.
If you like to provide excellent customer service, enjoy sales and troubleshooting, and would also enjoy learning how to replace batteries in various applications as well as repair consumer electronic devices, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
Customer Service / Sales
  • Greet customers, ask questions, and determine needs
  • Look to provide a complete solution
  • Operate a technology-based Point of Sale system to complete sales transactions
  • Inbound phone sales/service
  • Install large and small batteries in various devices
  • Disassemble / reassemble phones and tablets to complete repairs
  • Function as a team player

Merchandising / Inventory
  • Inventory stock maintenance and management
  • Ship and or deliver to commercial accounts
  • Maintain a clean and full store appearance
  • Build displays to better market seasonal products
  • Prepare the store for daily opening and closing

Physical Requirements / Work Environment
  • This position requires the associate to regularly stand, walk, and use hands to handle or touch; frequently talk, hear, and lift up to 50 pounds; and occasionally sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach above shoulders, and lift more than 50 pounds.
  • The position requires the associate to regularly use electrical cables, simple hand tools, a magnifying glass, spot welders, automotive and electronic testing equipment, as well as regular use of a phone, fax, computer, and printer/copier.
  • While performing the responsibilities of this position, the associate will occasionally be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, and the risk of electrical shock.
  • Protective clothing and/or equipment used in this position includes goggles, gloves, and steel-toed shoes.
