Technical Sales Development - Career Track
Alberta
Calgary, AB
OTE $90,000+
($60K-$68K Base + Monthly Profit Sharing) | Benefits | RRSP Matching | Perks

Are you technically minded, curious about how things are made, and interested in building a career where product and industry knowledge becomes your competitive advantage?

Our client is a leading Canadian industrial distributor investing in the next generation of technical expertise within its Western Canadian business.

You'll join a small, highly experienced team specializing in high-demand steel & metal products. With retirement approaching for several team members, the company is looking to add a career-oriented, coachable and technically minded individual who is eager to learn, open to extensive training and mentorship, and interested in becoming a product and industry specialist.

You don't need to be a steel expert today.  We're looking for someone who wants to become one.

What You'll Do
  • Learn steel and metal products, applications and fabrication
  • Develop knowledge of suppliers, sourcing and procurement
  • Support established external customers and internal branch customers throughout Western Canada
  • Assist with quotations, orders, inventory planning and forecasting
  • Work closely with sales, purchasing, scheduling, warehouse and operations
  • Help sales teams identify product and processing solutions for customer opportunities
  • Build relationships with fabricators, manufacturers, OEMs and industrial customers
  • Take on increasing account management and business development responsibility as your knowledge grows

What We're Looking For
Technical aptitude is our #1 priority.
You may come from steel or metal fabrication, but we're also interested in technically minded candidates from manufacturing, industrial distribution, construction products or other related environments.
Your experience could include inside sales, estimating, project coordination, purchasing, procurement, production coordination, customer service or sales support.

You'll bring:
  • Strong technical curiosity and problem-solving ability
  • Comfort working in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organization, follow-through and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • A genuine interest in developing deep product and industry knowledge
  • Previous steel experience is an asset, but not required.

Why Join?
  • OTE: $90K+ (base plus profit sharing)
  • Comprehensive health benefits, RRSP matching, plus perks
  • Extensive technical and industry training
  • Mentorship from experienced industry professionals
  • Genuine long-term career and succession opportunity

Ready to Take the Next Step?
If you are seeking a career-oriented role, we'd like to hear from you. Please apply or reach out for a confidential interview.
