Hybrid 3x Week in Atlanta, GA

Our client seeks a Technical Project Manager to lead strategic data engineering programs and drive delivery across cloud and on-prem ecosystems. The role will coordinate multi-team initiatives, align stakeholders, and ensure execution of modern data engineering practices with emphasis on Google Cloud Platform. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong Rally and Jira expertise, technical fluency with data platforms, and effective communication with engineering and leadership stakeholders.

Due to client requirements, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance.

Rate: $50.00 to $55.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee end-to-end delivery of complex data engineering programs across cloud and on-prem ecosystems.
  • Build program roadmaps, define milestones, and drive accountability across all workstreams.
  • Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and cross-team impacts.
  • Partner with Data Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Analytics, and Product teams to align on priorities.
  • Collaborate with cloud engineering teams to optimize solutions for GCP environments.
  • Support adoption of scalable data platforms using GCP services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, and Composer.
  • Ensure adherence to enterprise standards for security, governance, scalability, and cost optimization across GCP and multi-cloud environments.
  • Implement and refine project management frameworks, agile practices, and delivery processes.
  • Track delivery metrics, budgets, cloud consumption, and operational KPIs across GCP workloads.
  • Promote continuous improvement within engineering teams.
  • Provide transparent program updates via dashboards, reports, executive summaries, and steering committee sessions.
  • Manage expectations around timelines, trade-offs, risks, and scope.
Experience Requirements:
  • 5–8+ years of program or technical program management experience.
  • Strong understanding of data engineering fundamentals including ETL/ELT, data pipelines, orchestration, warehousing, and data governance.
  • Strong experience in Rally and Jira.
  • Hands-on experience supporting engineering programs involving GCP data services such as BigQuery, Dataflow, Dataproc, and Pub/Sub.
  • Proven success managing large, multi-team programs in Agile or hybrid environments.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Certifications such as PMP, PgMP, or Agile (CSM/SAFe) (preferred).
  • Background in data quality frameworks, MDM, privacy/compliance, and enterprise governance (preferred).
  • Experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps workflows (preferred).
Education Requirements:
  • PMP certification (preferred).
  • PgMP certification (preferred).
  • Agile certifications such as CSM or SAFe (preferred).
