Job Title: Technical Project Manager (Integration & Middleware)
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and ownership-driven Technical Project Manager to lead cross-functional project teams through the delivery of complex enterprise integration and middleware systems. In this role, you will manage the entire project lifecycle-from business requirement alignment to final deployment-ensuring that high-volume data exchange platforms, message brokers, and secure file transfer protocols are seamlessly executed. This position requires a rare blend of sharp business acumen and deep technological aptitude; you will sit at the center of technical subject matter experts (SMEs) and executive leadership to drive milestones, mitigate integration risks, and optimize cross-project dependencies.
Key Responsibilities
Project Lifecycle & Delivery
• End-to-End Governance: Direct the entire project lifecycle for medium-to-complex integration initiatives, developing detailed project plans and translating high-level objectives into executable tasks.
• Milestone Tracking: Monitor key deliverables, manage project scope, and dynamically adjust resource allocations or schedules to keep projects on track.
• Dependency Management: Map and analyze cross-project dependencies to establish clear completion priorities and prevent deployment bottlenecks.
Risk, Issue & Scope Management
• Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify systemic, infrastructure, or timeline risks early; engineer and execute appropriate risk-response strategies.
• Issue Resolution: Guide complex technical issues to closure and confidently escalate critical project obstacles to leadership when necessary.
• Requirements Alignment: Oversee the development of technical and business requirements, ensuring they match overall strategic objectives while aggressively controlling scope creep.
Communication & Stakeholder Collaboration
• Technical Translation: Act as the primary communication bridge across various organizational tiers, translating complex technical metrics from SMEs into clear, strategic updates for executive stakeholders.
• Matrix Collaboration: Facilitate highly effective team alignment, lead technical meetings, and deliver formal presentations across matrixed, virtual, and multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience:
oMinimum of 5 years of hands-on project management experience leading complex technology or infrastructure projects.
oProven track record managing initiatives within a highly matrixed or virtual enterprise environment.
• Technical Aptitude & Tooling:
oStrong working knowledge of application integration services, including Enterprise Service Bus (ESB), Message Brokers, Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and Managed File Transfer (MFT) systems.
oDirect experience managing environments utilizing: IBM Integration Bus (IIB) MQ, Axway Secure Transport, Connect:Direct, IBM Sterling File Gateway, IBM Control Center, and IBM Sterling Secure Proxy.
• Core Competencies:
oExceptional analytical, critical thinking, multitasking, and time management skills.
oDemonstrated ability to successfully influence and align diverse groups of engineers, developers, and business analysts without direct authority.
oStrong independent work ethic coupled with a collaborative team-focused mindset.
