We are looking for a Technical Project Manager to join our product team. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for driving the successful execution of technical projects and initiatives, from planning through delivery. They work closely with Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to translate business and product priorities into actionable engineering plans, ensuring development resources are focused on the highest-priority initiatives. The Technical Project Manager maintains project visibility, manages dependencies and timelines, identifies and resolves blockers, and proactively surfaces risks to stakeholders. They also work directly with external partners and stakeholders to understand requirements, coordinate technical deliverables, and ensure successful execution across organizational boundaries. The Technical Project Manager facilitates technical discussions and decision-making, adapting project plans as priorities shift to ensure teams remain aligned and projects are delivered effectively. This is a remote position based on Eastern Time. Talkspace Headquarters is located in NYC.
What You'll Do
  • Technical Project Management
    • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate roadmap priorities into executable engineering plans and ensure development resources are aligned to the highest-priority initiatives.
    • Lead the planning and execution of technical projects across the software development life cycle, from requirements through deployment.
    • Develop and maintain project timelines, milestones, and delivery plans, adjusting priorities and plans as business and technical needs evolve.
    • Track dependencies across multiple engineering workstreams and proactively identify and resolve conflicts or blockers.
    • Coordinate releases and technical initiatives across web, mobile, API, backend, and other engineering teams.
    • Monitor project health using quantitative metrics and qualitative signals, surfacing risks and opportunities to leadership early.
    • Maintain project documentation and visibility to ensure stakeholders have a clear understanding of project status, decisions, risks, and next steps.
  • Engineering Collaboration
    • Work closely with engineers and engineering leaders to unblock teams, facilitate decision-making, and ensure technical work remains aligned with product and business priorities.
    • Facilitate technical discussions and drive clarity and alignment when teams encounter complex decisions or competing priorities.
    • Coordinate sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and other project ceremonies to support effective engineering execution.
    • Understand the software development life cycle and technical dependencies well enough to identify potential risks and help teams navigate challenges.
    • Adapt project management processes and methodologies to maximize team productivity and effectiveness in a fast-moving environment.
  • External Partner & Stakeholder Management
    • Serve as a key technical point of contact for external partners, customers, and other stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment throughout project execution.
    • Gather and translate external partner requirements into actionable technical requirements, project plans, and priorities for internal teams.
    • Coordinate technical deliverables, integrations, timelines, and dependencies across internal engineering teams and external organizations.
    • Manage competing priorities and expectations across internal and external stakeholders, proactively identifying tradeoffs and escalating issues when needed.
    • Build strong relationships with external partners and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, resolve issues, and ensure successful delivery of technical initiatives.
    • Communicate project status, risks, dependencies, and technical decisions to external stakeholders in a clear and accessible manner.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration
    • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Design, Data, and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on priorities, timelines, and deliverables.
    • Translate technical information and project status into clear, actionable updates for non-technical stakeholders.
    • Partner with Product Management to understand business and user priorities and ensure engineering execution supports broader product strategy.
    • Collaborate with leadership to identify opportunities to improve engineering processes, resource allocation, and project execution.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

About You
  • 5+ years of technical project management experience, ideally in a high-velocity technology or startup environment.
  • Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, from requirements gathering through deployment.
  • Experience coordinating complex projects across multiple engineering teams, technical workstreams, and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively translate between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proactive problem-solver who identifies risks, dependencies, and blockers before they impact project delivery.
  • Collaborative leader who builds trust through strong judgment, accountability, and follow-through.
  • Comfortable participating in technical discussions and working closely with engineers and engineering leadership.
  • Experience managing external partners, vendors, customers, or other stakeholders through complex technical projects.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and the ability to adapt processes based on team and project needs.

Compensation
At Talkspace, we believe that pay transparency during the interview process is a critical part of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Our salary bands are based on internal and external compensation benchmarks, which we regularly evaluate to ensure we pay competitively.
The base salary range for this role is between $115,000 - $150,000. Within the salary bands, leveling corresponds to each candidate's relevant experience, skills as assessed during the interview process, education, and applicable certifications.
