Job description

Our client is seeking a Lead Engineer / Project Manager to support the continued growth of its Water Resources practice in the Greater Toronto Area, focusing specifically on SWM.
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced water resources professional who enjoys balancing technical project delivery, client relationship management, business development, and team leadership.
The successful candidate will lead a small team of engineers and technical staff while managing a portfolio of projects focused on residential land development and municipal infrastructure throughout Durham Region and surrounding municipalities.
The role offers a high degree of autonomy and visibility, with opportunities to contribute to strategic growth initiatives while remaining involved in technically challenging water resources projects.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage water resources projects from proposal through to completion.
  • Oversee a small team of engineers and technical staff, providing mentorship, guidance, and technical support.
  • Build and maintain relationships with private landowners, developers, municipal stakeholders, and project partners.
  • Support business development activities, including client engagement, proposal preparation, fee estimates, and project pursuits.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, resources, and deliverables.
  • Lead the preparation and review of technical reports, studies, and engineering submissions.
  • Support the development of neighbourhood-scale stormwater management plans and servicing studies for residential subdivision projects.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary land development teams and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure quality control and technical excellence across project deliverables.

Qualifications
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario
  • Proven experience managing water resources projects within a consulting engineering environment.

  • Demonstrated project management and client relationship management experience.
