Role:

The Technical Project Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling technically complex project activities under the direction of the AVP of Project Services. Accountable for leading the full project life cycle (initiation, planning, executing, controlling, and closing) for initiatives involving enterprise system implementations, integrations, infrastructure, data platforms, and technology migrations, with a strong emphasis on technical solution delivery. Serves as the primary bridge between engineering, IT, vendors, and business stakeholders ' translating technical constraints into project decisions and business requirements into technical execution. Supports medium to large-scale projects with high scope, impact, risk, and technical complexity, exercising a greater degree of technical judgment and autonomy than a general Project Manager. Responsibilities are varied and will include the following: schedule and lead technical working sessions, document technical decisions and meeting minutes, gather and validate technical requirements, participate directly in the design, configuration, and testing phases, own the technical risk and dependency picture, identify process and architecture improvement opportunities within project scope, develop and maintain project and technical documentation, track and report project status, elevate technical and delivery issues to avoid project delays, schedule and coordinate technical resources and vendors, update sites that store project documents and reports, and serve as point of contact for project and technical meetings.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

35% Leads and directs technically complex projects; responsible for planning, developing, implementing, and directing project plans for system implementations, integrations, infrastructure, data platform, and technology migration initiatives assigned by the AVP of Project Services. Follows defined project management methodologies and applies technical judgment to feasibility, sequencing, and delivery approach.

25% Owns technical solution coordination and design oversight. Partners directly with engineers, architects, technical analysts, and vendors to ensure technical requirements, integrations, configurations, and system dependencies are well-defined and correctly implemented. Evaluates technical trade-offs (build vs. buy, speed vs. quality, technical debt), validates effort estimates for feasibility, and ensures QA and testing processes are supported.

20% Identifies, assesses, and mitigates technical risks and dependencies across systems, vendors, and infrastructure. Maintains integration and dependency mapping and anticipates downstream technical impacts to the core platform (Symitar) and connected systems. Escalates technical and delivery issues to avoid project delays.

10% Organizes, schedules, and conducts project meetings, technical working sessions, and communications. Facilitates collaboration between business units, IT, vendors, and analysts. Prepares and delivers technical and executive project presentations, and provides technical guidance or mentorship to Project Managers and analysts as needed.

5% Supports ELT initiatives through coordination, documentation, and reporting. Collaborates with ELT to assess technical readiness and support transition into formal projects if needed.

5% Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

1. Ensures that project activities are completed on time and in accordance with established quality standards, procedures, and budget requirements. Related documentation is complete, accurate, and timely. All project work is appropriately captured in the prescribed Project Management tool (e.g., Jira, MS Project).

2. Coordinates and/or leads work performed by technical and supporting team members.

3. Generates detailed reports relating to project status, technical risk, and compliance promptly.

4. Maintains working relationships with internal and external partners. Reviews vendor and supplier technical specifications for adherence to project and architectural specifications.

5. Appropriately informs Senior Management of area activities, technical risks, and significant problems.

6. Ensures adequate communication with all appropriate parties, both technical and non-technical.

7. Demonstrates ability to lead projects involving technical systems, software implementations, integrations, and infrastructure upgrades. Ensures technical risks and dependencies are identified, documented, and mitigated.

8. Complies with all applicable rules, regulations, procedures, and policies, including but not limited to BSA, OFAC, and Physical Security.

Knowledge and Skills:

Experience Three to five years of project management experience, including hands-on delivery of technical projects such as system implementations, integrations, or infrastructure initiatives. Experience managing technical projects in a financial institution is strongly preferred. Familiarity with Symitar Core and related or integrated systems (e.g., digital banking, lending, and data platforms) is strongly preferred.

Education (1) A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized and extensive in-house training or apprenticeship program; a degree in information technology, computer science, or a related technical field is preferred.

(2) PMP/CAPM Certification is required, or is expected to be achieved within a defined period following employment.

(3) IT-focused certification(s) required or expected to be achieved following employment, preferably related to ITIL, Azure/cloud, or AI/ML fundamentals.

Interpersonal Skills Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. The role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an integral part of the role, and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Demonstrates advanced analytical, technical, and organizational skills. Must have excellent documentation and verbal and written communication/presentation skills. The ability to manage many activities and assignments, recognize when prioritization may be needed, and elevate appropriately.

Other Skills Proficient with Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Power BI, and skilled in project management software such as Jira or MS Project. Strong working knowledge of the system implementation life cycle (SDLC), software configuration, integrations/APIs, and technical documentation. Working familiarity with data concepts (e.g., SQL, reporting/BI) and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure) is preferred. Able to read and reason about technical designs and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Physical Requirements This role requires sitting at a computer for most of the day. This role would also need the ability to file files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand as necessary. Work Environment The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, Florida market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, printers, and phones.

This position requires consistent in-office presence to collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities effectively. It requires actively participating in conference calls and meetings with other Credit Union team members and vendors.

The standard expected work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After-hours work or travel is required to meet project deadlines or attend conferences, seminars, or meetings.
