Project Manager Part-Time

Sharp Hue Inc

Fayetteville, AR • On-site

Part-time

Posted 13 days ago

Job description

Salary: $75/hour and $95/hour

Sharp Hue is hiring an experienced Project Manager for a defined part-time role. You take decision-making and information processing off our plates, run client communication, and work alongside our consulting-trained development and design team as peers.

Sharp Hue is an AI-first consultancy, and AI is core to how we work - not a side experiment. You should already be using AI tools daily as a force multiplier on communication, documentation, and decision-making.

This is a role for someone whose experience, tools, and client instincts mean the work gets done without hand-holding in either direction - you don't need us to manage you, and you're not here to babysit our team.

WHO SHOULD APPLY

  • Must already reside in Arkansas, Georgia, or Texas. Remote, or hybrid from our offices in Fayetteville, AR or Atlanta, GA.
  • Senior project manager with the judgment to run engagements cleanly without leadership oversight.
  • Experienced freelancers and consultants welcome - this is a defined engagement you can layer alongside other work, not a path to full-time.

AI FLUENCY IS REQUIRED

If your honest reaction to AI tools is I keep meaning to try those or Im a little skeptical of them, this role is not for you. We are not here to onboard an experienced PM into AI. You should already be using these tools daily and have opinions about which ones work for which kinds of work.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Client leadership and relationship management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and our team.
  • Run client interactions with professionalism and confidence - set expectations, manage scope conversations directly, and keep the client aligned through the life of each engagement.
  • Own client communications: lead meetings, write clear recaps, and translate client needs into direction the team can act on.

Project strategy and coordination

  • Lead conversations and meetings to gather requirements, define scope, and shape work into actionable plans.
  • Steward each engagement end-to-end so deliverables meet scope and quality expectations.

Timeline and risk management

  • Track milestones and deadlines across multiple concurrent projects and keep them on course.
  • Spot risks and bottlenecks early, make decisions, and resolve issues before they reach the client or the team.
  • Hold the big picture - anticipate what's next and keep momentum.

Documentation and operating rhythm

  • Maintain clear, current project documentation so anyone - client, team, or leadership - can see where things stand.
  • Run scheduling, task tracking, and follow-ups in our project management tools (Trello and similar).
  • Establish a steady cadence of updates that keeps everyone informed without creating noise.

Team support and leadership insight

  • Facilitate clean communication between teams to remove friction and protect focus time.
  • Clear the path for our team rather than chasing them for status updates. They know how to do their work; your job is to keep the client and timelines from getting in their way.
  • Provide leadership with honest, strategic read-outs on project health and client dynamics.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Experience

  • 5+ years of project management experience, ideally in software development, digital product, or design environments. We are looking for depth and proven judgment, not entry-level.
  • A track record of running client-facing engagements independently and making good decisions without escalating every question.

Skills and working style

  • Excellent verbal and written communication - you can de-escalate, summarize, and clarify under pressure.
  • Strong organizational instincts and attention to detail; you are the person who notices what is about to fall through the cracks.
  • Daily fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent) as a working partner - for drafting client communications, synthesizing meeting notes, stress-testing your own thinking, and accelerating documentation. You should be able to point to specific ways AI has changed how you do PM work in the past year.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as Trello, and comfort adapting to whatever tools a client engagement requires.
  • Demonstrated ability to work remotely - self-directed, dependable, and easy to collaborate with.
  • Familiarity with software development and design processes is a strong plus.

The right fit

  • You bring a level of confidence and expertise that makes things feel easier, not heavier.
  • You are at a stage of your career where you are optimizing for well-paid engagements rather than a path to full-time.

ENGAGEMENT DETAILS

  • Employment structure. Preferred arrangement is W-2 part-time employment, paid hourly on a bi-weekly schedule. 1099 contractor arrangement instead of W-2 is negotiable.
  • This position is not a path to full-time employment.
  • Approximately 10-12 hours per week on average.
  • Hourly rate based on candidate's years of experience and alignment with the role. Offer will range between $75/hour and $95/hour.
  • Outside work. Flexibility to maintain other clients or work, provided it does not conflict with availability for regularly scheduled Sharp Hue client meetings.
