Job description

Samtec is seeking an Engineering Project Manager for our Colorado Springs, CO location. This is a Monday through Friday day shift position. At this time Samtec is only considering local applicants for this position. Salary is $80 - $105K per year inclusive of applicable bonus(s) and commensurate with experience. Standard benefit offerings available are medical (HSA/PPO) dental, vision, group life, AD&D, short and long term disability, EAP, 401K plus other voluntary options, as well as paid time off.

The Engineering Project Manager will manage projects by organizing and controlling project elements managing several projects in parallel which can vary in size and complexity.  

Essential Functions/ Responsibilities: 
  • Responsible for all aspects of project management on assigned projects. 
  • Develop project objectives by reviewing proposals and plans while conferring with management.  
  • Consult with management and other stakeholders to determine feasibility, effectiveness, and priority. 
  • Determine responsibilities of project phases and elements and assign personnel.  
  • Generate schedules by studying project specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.  
  • Maintain schedules by coordinating activities, providing accountability, and resolving problems. 
  • Provide accurate and timely information supporting quality decision making across and at all levels of the organization. 
  • Manage the process related to review and release of project deliverables. 
  • Advise management of new developments which may affect schedule, costs, customer and/or inter-departmental relations. 
  • Responsible for scheduling, facilitating and documenting project team meetings. 
  • Scheduling and facilitating gate reviews by working with department stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure gate review criteria are met and documentation is complete. 
  • Administer project management within the Samtec Project Tracking Software. 
  • Occasional travel to related facilities for training or facilitating project activities.

Required/Preferred Experience: 
  • 2+ Years’ experience leading technical projects required 
  • Background in optical, mechanical, electrical technologies or similar required 
  • Strong technical, interpersonal, verbal/written communication skills 
  • A proven track record of successful project delivery 
  • Experience delivering multiple projects simultaneously while balancing priority 
  • Ability to lead a multidisciplinary team 
  • Strong organizational skills 
Preferred Education: 

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field required
