The Senior Project Manager leads a team of Project Managers and project support professionals responsible for delivering complex electrical construction projects safely, efficiently, and profitably. Reporting to the Director of Project Management, this role provides technical leadership, operational oversight, and strategic direction across multiple projects while ensuring exceptional customer outcomes.

This position is designed for a decisive leader who thrives in technically challenging environments, develops high-performing teams, and drives execution through sound judgment, disciplined planning, and operational excellence. The Senior Project Manager establishes the standard for project execution while building strong customer relationships and developing future project leaders.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Project Execution

  • Provide leadership and direction to Project Managers and project support staff throughout the execution of assigned projects.
  • Oversee all aspects of project delivery, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to Beta Engineering's quality standards.
  • Coordinate project staffing and resources to meet project requirements while optimizing team performance.
  • Anticipate project risks, remove barriers, and make timely, data-driven decisions that drive successful outcomes.

Drive Operational & Project Performance

  • Own the overall operational and financial performance of an assigned portfolio of projects by leading and supporting Project Managers who are accountable for the day-to-day execution of their individual projects.

  • Ensure a high standard of quality in all project deliverables through disciplined execution and continuous improvement.
  • Apply technical expertise and sound judgment to resolve complex operational and customer challenges.
  • Drive accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.

Build Strategic Customer Relationships

  • Serve as the senior customer contact throughout the life of each project.
  • Build trusted partnerships by providing technical expertise, responsive communication, and reliable execution.
  • Resolve customer issues proactively while maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Support business development activities, proposal development, customer presentations, and project pursuits.

Develop Leaders & Strengthen Teams

  • Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Assistants.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain high-performing project professionals.
  • Establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and develop future project leaders.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, technical excellence, continuous learning, and operational discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of high-voltage electrical construction or related industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading technically complex projects and high-performing project teams.
  • Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments.
  • Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Office Suite.
