This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team at the forefront of innovation at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Project Manager to drive the implementation of our cutting-edge automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives. This role is critical to advancing our enterprise AI strategy, improving operational efficiency, and ultimately enhancing the healthcare experience for our members.
The ideal candidate will have a passion for technology, a solid background in project management, and experience navigating the complexities of the healthcare industry. You will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of projects, from initial concept to final deployment, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This role is eligible for our Flex Persona. For candidates local to our Boston, MA and Hingham MA offices.
Your Day to Day
  • Technical Liaison & Stakeholder Management: Serve as a technical Project Manager with the ability to bridge the gap between business objectives and technical execution, effectively collaborating with developers, architects, and engineering teams to ensure project alignment with technical standards.
  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of multiple AI, Generative AI, and automation initiatives that support key business and operational goals.
  • Facilitate key agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, to ensure continuous progress and team alignment.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocation using tools like Jira and Clarizen.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related activities, effectively communicating status, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, working closely with cross-functional teams including IT, Data Science, DevOps, business leaders, resolving impediments and ensuring clear communication.
  • Proactively identify and manage project risks and issues, developing mitigation plans to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Support change management efforts by creating training materials, facilitating readiness sessions, and providing hands-on support to ensure the smooth adoption of new AI-driven tools and processes.
  • Define and track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure the success and impact of automation and AI solutions.
  • Ensure all project activities adhere to standards established by the technical project management office.

What You Bring:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a project management role, preferably in a healthcare, insurance, or technology-focused environment.
  • Direct experience managing projects in the areas of automation and/or Generative AI is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.
  • Experience with project management software like Jira, Clarizen is a plus.
  • Certifications such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional in Managing AI (CPMAI) is a plus.

Salary Range: $116,820.00 - $142,780.00
The job posting range is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs and affordability.
This job is also eligible for variable pay.
