Nicolet College is seeking a passionate Cosmetology Instructor to join our growing program and help shape the future of beauty professionals in Northern Wisconsin. You'll work directly with students as they develop technical skills, professional confidence, and career readiness while preparing for successful careers in cosmetology. Primary Duties and Responsibilities This is a limited-term instructional position, expected for a period of three years. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: (This list is representative and not intended to be all-inclusive.) Instruction Deliver engaging classroom, laboratory, and salon instruction that prepares students for successful cosmetology careers

Create a positive, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes student achievement, professional growth, and career readiness. Curriculum development and revision to keep content relevant, aligned with industry expectations, and engaging for students. Maintain courses in Nicolet College's Learning Management System (LMS) and other instructional systems as required.

Participate in Nicolet College's program review and assessment processes. Support students in every aspect of their coursework through regular and substantive interaction. Integrate current industry trends, technologies, products, and best practices into instruction.

Prepare students for successful completion of state licensure requirements and employment in the cosmetology industry. Instruction-Related Support Continually assess courses, curriculum, instructional methods, and salon experiences for relevance to industry needs and student success. Recommend and implement improvements as appropriate.

Support the operation of the student salon as a professional learning environment. Ensure compliance with sanitation, safety, customer service, and state licensing requirements. Participate in program marketing, recruitment, retention, completion, and outreach activities to drive student enrollment and success.

Assist with community engagement events, career exploration activities, and enrollment initiatives. Prepare for and participate in Advisory Committee meetings and activities. Assist students with career planning, professional networking, employment opportunities, and connections with industry partners.

Model professionalism, ethical conduct, workplace expectations, and exceptional customer service. Professional Development and Service to the College Establish and maintain relationships with salons, spas, employers, industry professionals, and community partners. Partner with Wisconsin Technical College System colleagues, professional associations, and industry organizations to support workforce and program needs.

Meet and maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System (FQAS) requirements. Maintain required professional licenses, certifications, and industry credentials. Participate in professional development activities to remain current in cosmetology, instructional practices, and emerging technologies.

Contribute to a culture of professionalism, respect, teamwork, collaboration, and student-centered decision-making. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expertise in cosmetology practices, techniques, and industry standards. Passion for teaching, mentoring, and developing future beauty professionals.

Ability to motivate and engage students with diverse backgrounds and learning styles. Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to work collaboratively while contributing positively to team culture.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. The employee must demonstrate strong attention to detail and must be able to problem solve and perform complex tasks without error. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to normal classroom and office conditions and usual office equipment. The employee will be constantly required to talk, hear, and type/write.

The employee will be frequently required to sit, touch/handle/grasp (using hands and fingers) and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally move up to 10 pounds of general office items. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing normal speaking-level sounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, far, and field of vision. This position requires regular and punctual employee presence. Frequent use and exposure to cosmetic chemicals and products.

Candidates should have a strong understanding of cosmetology products and chemicals, including their proper use, risks, and safety management. Qualifications Required Qualifications: Technical Diploma in Cosmetology and two years (4,000 hours) of work experience in the Cosmetology field, with one year of experience in the last five years. Current Cosmetology License.

Current Cosmetology Instructor License. Licensed Cosmetologists interested in Teaching are encouraged to apply. Nicolet College will support qualified candidates in meeting Instructor Requirements.

Preferred Qualification: Teaching experience in post-secondary settings. Experience with alternative delivery methods including online education.
