We are seeking a Technical Program Manager II to join the Finance Data & Experiences (FD&E) organization and lead strategic reporting modernization and business transformation initiatives across Microsoft Finance. In this role, you will own end-to-end delivery of complex programs that improve financial reporting, automate business processes, and enable better business decisions through modern data and analytics solutions. You will work across Finance, Engineering, Data Platform, and Business Operations teams to define vision, align stakeholders, manage execution, and drive measurable business outcomes.The ideal candidate combines strong program management skills, business acumen, technical depth, and stakeholder influence. Responsibilities
Role Purpose
Drive end-to-end business transformation initiatives that modernize finance operations, accelerate adoption of AI-enabled capabilities, and deliver measurable business value. This role partners across Finance, Engineering, Data, and Operations teams to define strategy, execute programs, and ensure realization of expected outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead complex cross-functional programs that support finance modernization and operational transformation.
  • Translate business objectives into actionable roadmaps, requirements, success metrics, and measurable outcomes.
  • Drive operating model design, process optimization, and organizational readiness activities.
  • Establish and track KPIs, OKRs, business cases, and value realization metrics.
  • Partner with stakeholders across Finance, Engineering, Data, and Vendor organizations to align priorities and execution plans.
  • Manage program risks, dependencies, communications, and executive reporting.
  • Drive adoption and change management for new capabilities, processes, and tools.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce manual effort, improve scalability, and increase organizational effectiveness.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.

Additional or preferred qualifications:
  • 4+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • Experience leading large-scale business or technical transformation programs.
  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive measurable business outcomes through cross-functional leadership.
  • Experience with finance, business operations, process improvement, or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Ability to balance strategic planning with operational execution.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development OR equivalent experience.

Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,100 - $202,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,800 - $219,200 per year.
