Job description

  • Manage a complex program or multiple mid-level programs
  • Provide regular liaison with customer to discuss program status, ongoing activities, and plans
  • Develop and implement program plans, budgeting positions, schedules, and execution strategy
  • Perform specific, routine program or technical tasks within defined scope of management responsibility
  • Perform program/technical management
  • Apply and correlate knowledge of multiple disciplines (engineering, logistics, financial management, contracting, and configuration management) to achieve cohesive program execution in accordance with assigned cost, schedule, and performance requirements
  • Logically and systematically convert customer or product/technical requirements into solutions that recognize technical, schedule, and cost constraints; identify associated risks and manage mitigation plans
  • Provide higher management with status and decision information on key program issues
  • Ensure contractual needs/concerns are addressed
  • Ensure timely and accurate submission of all reports/deliverables
  • Conduct group program reviews
  • Communicate cost, schedule, and performance with management
  • Provide necessary solutions, generally without assistance
  • Support proposal and pricing efforts as required

Program Director Duties:

  • Execute personnel-related activities to include:
    • Create realistic and accurate job descriptions
    • Direct employee workload to ensure productivity and performance against job description
    • Engage to manage positive employee relations and workplace atmosphere
    • Conduct ongoing feedback - both informal and semiannual feedback, counseling if necessary
    • Advise management as to which employees deserve recognition including but not limited to raises, promotions and awards
    • Manage accuracy of employee timecards
    • Ensure employees receive and perform any required training for both position and company needs
  • Guide employees to ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies/processes
  • Serve as link between upper management and employees; disseminate company information as appropriate - goals/changes/updates/news
  • Coordinate with Director and/or VP on corporate matters
  • Ensure a safe working environment, safety attitude and execution
  • Complete scheduling and assigning of personnel; accomplish desired work results, establishing priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems, reporting results of the project process flow on weekly activity reports
  • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing KIHOMAC organizational procedures and policies
  • Resolve personnel problems by analyzing data, investigating issues, identify solutions, recommend action and documenting in personnel file
  • Provide leadership, mentorship and oversight direction of all site personnel (to include Byron PMs and Managers) to ensure quality performance in support of Government programs as well as develop and mature mutually beneficial relationships with other sites
  • Communicate with Government leads to ensure contractual needs and concerns are addressed
  • Manage and up channel personnel issues as required and ensure corrective/ disciplinary action is taken
  • Conduct internal PMRs and provide solutions as required to address issues on assigned contracts
  • Ensure production schedules and spend plans are maintained for all Byron programs
  • Participate as appropriate in management of any Commercial or IR&D activities under area of purview
  • Participate as appropriate in Quality Management System Corporate Management Reviews to provide input as related to Byron facility
  • Coordinate resource loading with other Directors and Program Managers
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Education/Training: 

  • Bachelor's Degree in technical, business, or related field required
  • Department of Defense Acquisition (DAU) PM certification, PMP, or degree in Program Management or equivalent is highly desired     

Experience:

  • 10+ years of personnel management experience with Government contracts
  • Competency in the acquisition process
  • Ability to interpret and apply acquisition policy

Security:

  • Must be a US citizen
  • Candidate must be in possession of a minimum DoD issued Secret Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to occasionally reach with hands and arms
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen use, while sitting or standing at a desk
  • Adhere to safety protocols when in work areas requiring use of PPE (e.g. eyewear, gloves, masks, hearing protection, steel toed shoes, etc.)
  • Able to safely lift and carry up to 20 pounds at a time

Salary: 

The projected salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation, rather actual salary will be based on experience, qualifications, and applicable certifications or degrees held. Offered salary may fall outside of this range.
