IMPORTANT PROGRAM UPDATE - 2027 LEP COHORT
The Georgia Power Lineworker Entry Program (LEP) is expected to return in early 2027. We encourage individuals interested in beginning a career in the electric utility industry to submit an application and remain connected for future program announcements.
Please note that specific 2027 program dates have not yet been finalized. Qualified applicants will receive additional information regarding program dates, eligibility requirements, the selection process, and next steps as details become available.

Georgia Power Company and BLOC Resources have collaborated to provide the Lineworker Entry Program (LEP) to all interested job seekers, including early careerists. The LEP is designed as a guided career pathway to prepare aspiring Lineworkers with introductory job skills training needed to enter the electric utility industry.
The LEP aims to address the growing demand for career-ready individuals interested in entering the electric utility workforce.
Program Details
  • Length: 6- week program
  • Schedule: 4 days a week 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
  • Pay rate: $21/hour

Participants of LEP will gain in-class and in-field Lineworker skills training in the following areas:

Requirements
Educational Background: High School Diploma or GED
Testing: Ability to successfully pass the Construction and Skilled Trade Selection (CAST) test
Licensing: Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) permit
Must not have had their driving license or privileges revoked within the past two years
Physical Fitness: Maintain a weight under 270 lbs. (Due to equipment constraints) and lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Comfort with Heights: Comfortable working at heights between 30-75 ft
