The Event Production Location Lead - Production Manager will lead the onsite event production and operational support team for an established multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. This key role is responsible for:
  • overseeing the day-to-day operations, coordination, scheduling, and execution of onsite, hybrid, and virtual productions across supported event and meeting environments,
  • partnering with the client Live Event team, requestors, and event stakeholders to coordinate production support requirements and operational readiness,

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Event Production Location Lead - Production Manager will lead the onsite event production and operational support team for an established multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology company. This key role is responsible for:

  • partnering with the client Live Event team, requestors, and event stakeholders to coordinate production support requirements and operational readiness,
  • managing AVI-SPL production personnel and operational workflows within the assigned location; and
  • providing direct production coordination, escalation support, and operational leadership for assigned productions, live events, and meeting support activities as needed.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Team Management
  • Oversee the onsite team responsible for delivering high-quality production support through professional video, audio, streaming, and presentation technologies to support onsite, virtual, and hybrid event experiences.
  • Serve as the primary onsite escalation point for operational issues, event support needs, and technical service concerns within the assigned location.
  • Implement training and operational enablement programs to ensure personnel possess the technical, production, communication, and customer service skills required to support enterprise live event environments.
  • Ensure minimum staffing levels and concurrent support capacity requirements are consistently maintained to support operational demands and scheduled event activity.
  • Oversee development of contingency staffing and backfill plans, including coordination of freelance and supplemental production resources, to ensure uninterrupted service delivery.
  • Support the assessment and recommendation of solutions related to the functionality, operational readiness, and technical capabilities of studio, meeting, event, and control room-supported environments.
  • Develop and provide operational analysis, staffing utilization, and service performance reports to leadership on a recurring basis.
  • Assess personnel performance and conduct coaching and performance reviews inclusive of corrective action measures as necessary.
  • Ensure maximum utilization of internal employees, operational resources, and production support capabilities across assigned event environments.
  • Promote adherence to operational standards, documented workflows, escalation procedures, and Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.

Production Management
  • Collaborate with client Live Event teams and stakeholders on production approach, technical workflows, and operational planning for assigned events and supported locations.
  • Coordinate technical production requirements for live events, hybrid meetings, broadcasts, and streaming support activities while ensuring compliance with operational procedures and service standards.
  • Manage and maintain production schedules including staffing assignments, technical resource allocation, event preparation timelines, and operational coverage requirements.
  • Maintain relationships with AVI-SPL production resources, vendors, and external partners for scalable event support, additional equipment, and supplemental production staffing needs.
  • Facilitate equipment rentals, supplemental production resources, and third-party support requirements as needed for assigned productions.
  • Conduct recurring production and operational coordination meetings to review upcoming events, assess project progress, identify operational risks, and ensure resource readiness.
  • Support operational alignment between onsite teams, remote production resources, and control room-supported event activities.
  • Perform post-event reviews and operational assessments to identify successes, service gaps, lessons learned, and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure event execution and operational support activities are aligned with established governance standards, service expectations, and client production requirements.
  • Fill production crew positions and provide direct operational support during events as necessary.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-have skills & job qualifications
  • 7+ years of experience in live event production, event coordination, broadcast operations, audio/visual production, streaming support, or similar production environments.
  • 3+ years of experience in:
    • leading, mentoring, and developing production and operational support teams
    • onsite, virtual, and hybrid live event production environments
    • scheduling, resource coordination, and operational workflow management
    • coordinating logistics and technical support across multiple stakeholders, vendors, or production partners
  • Strong technical understanding of live event production systems, broadcast workflows, audio/visual technologies, streaming platforms, and hybrid event environments.
  • Familiarity with enterprise event and collaboration platforms including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, streaming technologies, and related production support workflows.
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism during high-pressure live events and production situations.
  • Ability to communicate operational challenges and technical concerns to clients and stakeholders while maintaining confidence, leadership, and customer service excellence.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and effective within fast-paced production and operational environments.
  • Strong work ethic, self-direction, self-motivation, patience, persistence, and operational awareness.
  • Excellent collaboration and customer relationship skills with a strong understanding of white glove service expectations.
  • Consistent proactive preparation and timely communication across multiple operational channels and stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to collect and analyze operational metrics, identify trends, and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.

Nice-to-have skills
  • Knowledge of enterprise production environments including control room operations, signal routing, streaming coordination, and audio/video workflows.
  • Experience supporting productions in technical roles including technical directing, audio mixing, camera operation, graphics playback, streaming support, or editing.
  • Experience supporting multinational or managed service operational environments.
  • College degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, event technology, or similar field.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
  • Valid driver's license and safe driving record.
  • Limited travel is required based on requirements and location of productions and service needs including meetings at client offices and AVI-SPL offices.
