Position Summary

The Electrician is responsible for performing skilled electrical installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance work to support safe and efficient plant operations. This role ensures the reliability of electrical systems and equipment essential to production and contributes to continuous improvement efforts that enhance operational effectiveness, safety, productivity, and regulatory compliance.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Install, diagnose, service, and repair electrical equipment in a 3-phase, 480V industrial environment, as well as 120V AC and 24V DC systems.
  2. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to ensure proper installation and operation.
  3. Troubleshoot electrical circuits, motors, VFDs, PLCs, and related components, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and safely.
  4. Calibrate and adjust electrical control devices and verify proper function.
  5. Basic understanding and troubleshoot PLC and automated control systems.
  6. Inspect electrical equipment during operation to detect overheating, malfunction, or deterioration.
  7. Replace defective components such as switches, motors, wiring, and control devices.
  8. Troubleshoot and support pneumatic systems including solenoids, cylinders, and associated controls
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
  1. Prior electrical maintenance experience in an industrial plant environment preferred.
  2. Extensive background in electrical system troubleshooting and repair.
  3. Mechanical aptitude and understanding of motor control theory and applications.
  4. Experience with PLCs, VFDs, and/or automated control systems.
  5. Knowledge of industrial electrical systems, facility operations, and basic maintenance practices.
  6. Ability to maintain documentation, prepare reports, and follow established recordkeeping procedures.
  7. Ability with computers, including email, file management, and CMMS systems.
  8. Strong communication skills, including the ability to clearly document work performed.
  9. Ability to organize workload, meet deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.

Physical Requirements
  1. Work is performed in indoor and outdoor plant environments with exposure to varying temperatures, electrical hazards, moving machinery, dust, fumes, and elevated work areas.
  2. Regular walking, standing, climbing, bending, kneeling, and crawling; ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs.
  3. Frequent use of close and distant vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  4. Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) required in designated areas.
  5. Must be able to work assigned schedules, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, and be available for call-out during emergencies or critical events.
  6. May work at heights, in confined spaces, and with high-voltage equipment
