Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Field Service/Technical Support Engineer to provide outstanding service to our customers. The ideal candidate is highly motivated, solutions-focused, and committed to resolving customer issues. Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote and occasional on-site technical support to customers across multiple complex systems.

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and debug complex electro-mechanical equipment, computer systems, software, and networked and/or wireless systems.

  • Resolve complex issues independently or in collaboration with others, as needed.

  • Respond to situations where first-line technicians are unable to isolate or resolve issues with malfunctioning equipment or software.

  • Identify and report design, reliability, and maintenance issues, as well as software bugs, to design and software engineering teams.

  • Interact frequently with customers to provide technical support and develop strong relationships.

  • Support additional company functions, including customer installations and training, as needed.

  • Travel domestically and internationally as required, up to 25% annually (approximately 2 - 4 trips per quarter).

Compensation Range: $72,000 - $90,000

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in an engineering discipline with 2+ years of related experience, or an MA/MS degree in an engineering discipline, or 6+ years of military or aerospace experience.

  • Experience with the design, operation, or maintenance of radar and surveillance systems.

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to build positive customer relationships through continued, long-term interaction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Networking experience or certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+).

  • Hardware and/or electrical installation experience.

  • Experience with Unix, Linux, and MATLAB.

  • Active Secret Security Clearance or eligibility to obtain and maintain a clearance.
