We are seeking a highly analytical, hands-on Senior SAP Business Analyst – Manufacturing Operations to serve as a key functional and technical partner supporting our SAP S/4HANA environment across manufacturing and supply chain operations.

Position Overview
The Senior SAP Business Analyst – Manufacturing Operations serves as a key functional and technical partner supporting the organization’s SAP S/4HANA environment across manufacturing and supply chain operations. This role is responsible for aligning system capabilities with business needs, ensuring that SAP effectively supports day-to-day operations, process optimization, and data-driven decision-making.
Acts as the primary SAP point of contact, partnering cross-functionally with Production, Planning, Purchasing, Sales, and Finance to analyze processes, resolve system issues, and deliver scalable solutions. Requires strong expertise in end-to-end manufacturing workflows, including MRP, production, procurement, sales and distribution, master data, and product costing. This position operates in a hands-on capacity with both shop floor and office stakeholders to identify gaps, optimize system use, and drive continuous improvement. Evaluates and implements system enhancements or complementary tools to improve efficiency and support a data-driven, high-performing manufacturing operation.
Key Responsibilities
SAP Operations Support
  • Serve as the primary SAP subject matter expert and point of contact across Production, Planning, Purchasing, Customer Service, and Finance.
  • Provide hands-on support for day-to-day SAP transactions, including MRP, production orders, purchase orders, sales orders, deliveries, and billing.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity of master data, including materials, BOMs, routings, work centers, customers, vendors, pricing, and cost data.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system and process issues to ensure uninterrupted operational performance.
Process amp; System Optimization
  • Evaluate current processes across MRP, production, procurement, sales amp; distribution, and inventory management to identify and implement improvements.
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and partner with Corporate IT or external vendors to execute solutions.
  • Support system enhancements, upgrades, and implementations, including testing, validation, and deployment.
  • Develop and maintain clear process documentation and user-friendly work instructions.
  • Leverage complementary tools (e.g., Smartsheet, advanced Excel) to enhance reporting, tracking, and operational efficiency.
Product Costing amp; Financial Integration
  • Support standard costing processes, cost rollups, and periodic cost updates within SAP.
  • Partner with Finance and Operations to analyze production variances, material usage, and margin performance.
  • Conduct cost analysis to support new product introductions, process improvements, and make-or-buy decisions.
  • Ensure alignment between material movements and financial postings, supporting accurate inventory, WIP, and COGS reporting.
Training amp; Change Management
  • Train and support end users across functions, including planners, buyers, production, and warehouse teams, to drive effective SAP utilization.
  • Support SAP-related aspects of new product launches, process changes, and plant expansions.
  • Promote standardized processes and best practices to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
  • Partner with key users and business leaders to drive adoption, process consistency, and continuous improvement.

Education / Qualifications / Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Accounting/Controlling, Information Systems, or related field
  • 7+ years of hands-on SAP experience supporting manufacturing operations across multiple sites.
  • Strong functional expertise across:
    • MRP and production planning
    • Purchasing and procurement processes
    • Sales amp; Distribution (order-to-cash)
    • Master data management
    • Product costing and variance analysis
    • Integration of material movements with financial and controlling processes
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA preferred; ECC experience acceptable.
  • Proven experience serving as a central SAP resource supporting both operations and finance.
  • Demonstrated success supporting end users, resolving system issues, and driving process/system improvements.
  • Experience participating in system enhancements, implementations, and testing cycles.
  • Advanced data analysis capabilities, including strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, data modeling, large datasets).
  • Experience with Smartsheet or similar tools for workflow tracking and process optimization preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and ability to work effectively within a multicultural organization.
  • Continuous learning mindset with a proactive approach to identifying practical, scalable solutions.
Preferred / Nice to Have:
  • Experience in SAP Controlling (CO), particularly in product costing and profitability analysis.
  • Exposure to process mapping and workflow tools (e.g., Visio, Smartsheet), with strong preference for Smartsheet experience.
  • Experience working in a global or international business environment.
  • SAP certifications (or equivalent hands-on expertise).
  • Familiarity with SAP Analytics Cloud or similar reporting/analytics tools.
