As a member of Zayo's Solution Architecture Organization, the role of Technical Solution Analyst is a dynamic opportunity for individuals looking to begin a technical career in the Telecom Industry. By partnering with the Solution Architecture Organization, each Technical Solution Analyst will be encouraged to develop their technical skillset through org-wide mentorship and hands-on learning. This includes supporting KMZ requests, basic custom opportunity tasks, existing service visualization requests, and basic network design tasks that visually represent solutions for direct and indirect customers.

This individual will be responsible for assisting in preparing and delivering technical diagrams and sales presentations and driving the transactional and primary custom solution sales cycles to closure. Key areas of focus will include: technical documentation capturing physical and logical solutions, proposal response assistance, providing guidance and counsel throughout the transactional and basic custom solution sales processes, and ensuring complete and accurate documentation for all supported opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Sales Support

    • Assist the Solution Architecture Org driving sales through operational support

    • Utilize GIS-based systems, previous solution designs, Zayo product knowledge, and specific requirements to qualify and support unique customer requests

    • Assist in the preparation of proposal responses and cost-effective solution designs

  • Solution Design

    • Analyze customer requirements to understand how Zayo products and services can be applied to meet their needs and solve their problems

    • Assist Solution Engineering org with gathering, organizing, analyzing, and presenting applicable technical and financial information for internal and external stakeholders

    • Assist Solution Engineers as they design solutions that support current and future customer business applications

    • In addition to learning all required network engineering material, the Technical Solutions Analyst will be expected to stay up-to-date with general industry and technological developments

  • Planning and Logistics

    • Adhere to and communicate timeline expectations for project completion

    • Provide regular project updates to internal customers (sales, engineering, technical operations)

  • General

    • Adhere to all company standards and overall business professionalism

    • Demonstrate regular, consistent, and punctual attendance

    • Perform other duties as assigned

    • Must be available to work during Mountain Time business hours, regardless of geographic location

Qualifications

  • Recommended to have at least two years experience in technical sales engineering/support role(s) within the telecommunications industry (ideally ISP, CLEC, ILEC, VAR, or MSO)

  • Excellent project management skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to laypersons in simple, understandable terms

  • Consistent focus on results and goal achievement

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Strong teamwork skills

  • Ability to handle ambiguity, and anticipate and quickly react to changes in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Additional Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Economics, General Business, and or related field of study

  • Salesforce, Google Earth, ESRI, MyWorld/GE Smallworld

  • Network design (emphasis on fiber, Layer 1, 2, and 3)

  • MAN technologies and structures (including DS-x, OC-x, WDM, and Ethernet)

  • Internet technologies, functionality, and services

  • Networking protocols (emphasis on Layers 1, 2, and 3)

  • Data networking technologies, functionality, and services (LAN, MAN, WAN, VPN)

  • High-level understanding of Fiber Optic network design and implementation

Base Pay Range: $24.76 to $26.70 per hour, commensurate with experience.

The base pay range shown is a guideline and reasonable estimate for this role. It takes into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions. Actual compensation offered may vary from the posted range based upon geographic location, work experience, skill level, certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Non- sales roles may be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive plan. Sales roles may be eligible to participate in a sales incentive plan.


Additionally, this position may be eligible for certain benefits, such as health insurance, life insurance, disability retirement plans, paid time off.
