Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Project Manager to join our Technical Operations team in beautiful Vancouver, BC. Reporting to the Chief Technical Operations Officer, you will support the development and implementation of a project management system and support planning, documenting, tracking and reporting of our programs. You'll be joining a company committed to developing regenerative medicines that deliver life-changing, functional cures for patients living with serious diseases. 

Responsibilities 

  • Supporting the development and implementation of a centralized Project Management System to support planning, documenting, tracking, reporting and when necessary, escalation of team and working group activities, issues, and risks.
  • Supporting the project planning process within established governance structure, monitors progress, and drives execution.
  • Assessing and continuously improving current communication/reporting/tracking tools for effectiveness, efficiency, and ease of use.
  • Developing awareness of industry standard project management structure and tools and assesses appropriateness. When needed, refine Aspect's framework against these standards based on size of company and stage of asset development.
  • Ensuring alignment and codification of all required activities into project logs and to track progress against targeted timelines.
  • Supporting issue resolution and drives risk identification, assessment and mitigation planning including adequate documentation/follow-up of ongoing issues and risks.
  • As required, designing and maintaining reporting of project management activities via tools such as dashboards, slides etc.
  • Facilitating required communications via meeting scheduling, agenda development, and follow-up activities. 
  • Providing support to overall program management activities including presenting content development, participation in management meetings to prepare minutes/actions and providing follow-up, as necessary.
  • Developing and utilizing decision support models, Gantt charts, and timelines to enable achievement of goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biotech, Life Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. 
  • Experience:  4-6+ years of progressive project/program management experience within a biotech, pharmaceutical, or scientific R&D environment.
  • Lifecycle Experience: Proven hands-on track record driving therapeutic programs past the Development Candidate (DC) stage, through GLP studies, and successfully into First-in-Human (FIH) clinical trials or beyond. 
  • Cross-Functional Influence: Demonstrated success in influencing multidisciplinary scientific/technical teams and managing complex, cross-functional initiatives without direct authority.
  • Strategic Partnership: Ability to drive critical decisions, manage timelines, and partner seamlessly with Program Technical Leads to meet overarching corporate goals.
  • Creative Problem Solving: You love immersing yourself in difficult technical problems and coming up with solutions that work. You think outside the box and use your experience and intuition to identify when such solutions are realistic.
  • Operational Rigor: Outstanding attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to process rigor. 
  • Execution & Delivery: You have outstanding attention to detail and take pride in your work. You can multitask, prioritize competing deadlines, and have a track record for delivering work on time.

The hiring range for this role is $143,852 - $161,834, annually. Our ranges are based on market data. Offered salaries will be based on a combination of factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience. For candidates who exceed role requirements, we are open to exploring above-range offers. Note that base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Aspect.
