CORMAC is seeking a Senior Technical Lead to join our development team. As a Senior Technical Lead/Product Owner, you will be responsible for guiding the design, development, and implementation of complex software solutions, ensuring that projects are delivered on time and meet high-quality standards. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to set technical direction, mentor junior developers, and drive innovation across multiple projects. Your leadership and technical expertise will help ensure the team delivers scalable, reliable, and efficient solutions.

The Senior Technical Lead provides hands-on technical leadership for complex federal healthcare systems, leading design, development, and delivery activities across cross functional teams. This role is responsible for guiding technical implementation, ensuring solution quality, and aligning engineering execution with federal healthcare requirements, compliance standards, and program objectives.

The Senior Technical Lead works closely with Program Management, Solution Architect, Product Owners, and Technical Leads to deliver secure, scalable, and high-quality systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the technical direction, delivery, and day-to-day management of development teams, providing guidance on architecture, design, and implementation to ensure high standards of software quality, scalability, and timely project execution.
  • Mentor and support the professional growth of developers by providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews, managing team performance and workload priorities, and promoting development best practices and design standards.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of system architecture while managing technical delivery activities to ensure alignment with business needs and technical requirements, including scalability, security, reliability, and performance.
  • Work closely with product owners, business analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
  • Ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices and perform regular code reviews to maintain high-quality code across the team.
  • Provide solutions-based leadership to complex technical challenges, including issues that arise during development, debugging, or production.
  • Participate in Agile development cycles (e.g., Scrum, Kanban) by providing technical expertise during sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
  • Advocate for and implement continuous improvements in development processes, tooling, and technologies to enhance productivity and system performance.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for design specifications, system architectures, and development procedures.
  • Work across different teams (e.g., operations, QA, security) to ensure smooth integration and deployment of applications and services.
  • Ensure that comprehensive testing strategies (unit tests, integration tests, etc.) are implemented and followed to maintain software reliability.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or technical lead role.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience with modern full-stack development technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js, REST APIs, HTML, and CSS.
  • Experience with containerization and cloud deployment technologies such as Docker and AWS ECS.
  • Minimum of 2+years of hands-on experience with AWS services.
  • Experience monitoring and troubleshooting production applications using CloudWatch, Splunk, New Relic, or similar observability tools.
  • Experience working with PostgreSQL or other relational database technologies.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment tools such as Jenkins.
  • Knowledge of software design patterns, secure development practices, and software engineering best practices.
  • Experience with system performance optimization, troubleshooting, and scalability solutions.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching junior developers.
  • Experience with Git/version control systems and collaborative development workflows.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Developer – Associate, or similar cloud certifications).
  • Experience with Amazon QuickSight, Slice, Alembic, Databricks, or similar reporting, analytics, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience supporting federal healthcare contracts with knowledge of FISMA, National Institute of Standards and Technology NIST, FedRAMP, HIPAA, and related security/compliance standards.
