Job description

What Your Day Will Look Like:

Consor Engineers is seeking an experienced Senior Roadway Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of complex transportation projects across Utah. This role is responsible for technical project leadership, roadway design oversight, and multidisciplinary coordination on high-profile highway and infrastructure projects.

The ideal candidate brings a strong background in roadway geometric design, design-build delivery, and UDOT project experience, with the ability to lead technical teams and deliver high-quality plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E). This role will serve as both a project manager and technical lead, supporting project pursuits, mentoring staff, and driving successful project outcomes.

What You'll Do:
  • Lead and manage roadway and transportation projects, from scoping through final design and delivery
  • Serve as project manager and technical lead, ensuring high-quality roadway design and documentation
  • Oversee geometric design, corridor modeling, and plan production for highways, interchanges, and local roadways
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources, ensuring delivery on time and within scope
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams (drainage, structures, traffic, utilities, environmental)
  • Provide technical oversight and QA/QC for plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E)
  • Support and lead design-build and alternative delivery pursuits, including ATCs, technical concepts, and design strategy
  • Interface directly with clients, including UDOT, municipalities, and regional agencies
  • Prepare and present technical deliverables, design approaches, and project updates
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, supporting growth in roadway design and modeling capabilities
  • Contribute to business development, including proposals, scopes, and client relationship management
What Youโ€™ll Need: Required Qualifications
  • 12+ years of experience in roadway or transportation engineering
  • Strong background in roadway geometric design, modeling, and plan production
  • Proven experience managing projects and leading roadway design teams or segments
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (Utah preferred or ability to obtain via reciprocity)
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proficiency with OpenRoads, MicroStation, InRoads, or similar design tools
  • Strong understanding of roadway design standards (AASHTO, UDOT, local agencies)
  • Experience delivering PS&E packages for transportation projects
Preferred Qualifications (not required)
  • Extensive experience with UDOT projects and Utah-based transportation work
  • Experience on design-build projects and pursuits, including alternative technical concepts (ATCs)
  • Background serving as a segment lead or technical lead on large-scale corridor or interchange projects
  • Experience mentoring staff and supporting technical team development
  • Familiarity with corridor modeling, interchange design, and complex urban roadway systems
