About this Role

Quanta Power Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Project Accounting Manager to oversee project financial management, reporting, and controls across large-scale EPC power generation and infrastructure projects. This role is responsible for leading project accounting activities, ensuring accurate cost tracking, revenue recognition, compliance with accounting standards, and supporting project leadership with actionable financial insights. 

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in EPC or construction project accounting, advanced analytical skills, and the ability to partner closely with project managers, cost specialists, and corporate finance teams to drive financial accuracy and performance.

What You'll Do
  • Lead project accounting activities for multiple large-scale EPC projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and cost tracking 
  • Oversee monthly close processes including revenue recognition, accruals, and WIP (Work-in-Progress) reporting 
  • Partner with project management and project controls teams to monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost performance 
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and company accounting policies 
  • Analyze project financial performance and provide variance explanations and recommendations to leadership 
  • Support development and maintenance of project financial forecasts and cash flow projections 
  • Review and approve project-related invoices, commitments, and subcontractor billing activities 
  • Lead audits and support internal/external audit requests related to project accounting 
  • Implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, efficiency, and automation 
  • Mentor and support junior project accountants and accounting staff 
  • Collaborate with procurement, legal, and operations teams to ensure alignment on financial terms and contract compliance 
  • Support system enhancements and ERP usage (e.g., JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle) for project accounting functions 
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field 
  • 7-12+ years of experience in project accounting, preferably in EPC, construction, or industrial environments 
  • 3-5 years of management experience
  • Strong understanding of percentage-of-completion accounting and revenue recognition principles 
  • Experience with project cost controls, WIP reporting, and financial forecasting 
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or similar) 
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong financial modeling capabilities 
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills 
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with technical and operational teams 
  • Ability to manage multiple high-value projects in a fast-paced environment
