POSITION SUMMARY:

The DevOps Developer II independently designs and delivers automation and platform improvements that enable reliable, secure, and efficient application delivery for Enloe Health. This role engineers and maintains CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, configuration management, and observability solutions across multiple environments (development, test, and production). Enloe's preferred toolchain includes Azure DevOps (Boards, Repos, Pipelines), an on-premises GitLab instance, integrated with standard change control and audit requirements in modern ITSM platforms. The DevOps Developer II serves as a technical lead for small-to-medium initiatives, collaborates closely with application teams, infrastructure, and cybersecurity, and drives standardization of delivery patterns to improve quality, reduce deployment risk, and accelerate time-to-value. The role will also support emerging AI-enabled delivery capabilities, including Microsoft Foundry AI development and other AI tools, to improve IT productivity, automated testing, and operational insight. This position contributes to continuous improvement, produces support and runbook documentation, and may participate in an on-call rotation as determined by the Manager.

EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3+) years of experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines and automation in an enterprise environment.
  • Experience in at least one of the following programming languages: C#, Ruby, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python.
  • Experience in Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code or similar IDE required.
  • Proficiency in package management tools (nuget, npm, Gems, pip, etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with infrastructure-as-code and configuration management (e.g., Terraform, Bicep/ARM, Ansible, DSC, Chef/Puppet).
  • Experience with open-source agentic test management (QE Fleet, browser-use or similar) approaches/tools to improve automated testing and quality.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Foundry AI development and other AI tools used to accelerate software delivery and operations.
  • Experience with container platforms (Docker) and orchestration concepts (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and/or PaaS services.
  • Experience implementing monitoring/logging/alerting and supporting incident response.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small-to-medium initiatives and collaborate across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working with source control and CI/CD concepts using Azure DevOps and/or GitLab or GitHub (on-prem).
  • Working knowledge of work management ITSM practices using Jira/JSM, ServiceNow or similar service management platforms.

Desired:

  • Experience integrating automated testing and security scanning into pipelines (DevSecOps) and implementing secrets management.
  • Experience with Azure (preferred) and hybrid networking/identity patterns (AD/AAD, RBAC).
  • Healthcare experience with HIPAA-aware operations and audit-ready change management.
  • Desired experience with FHIR APIs.
  • Desired experience with open-source ELK stack (Elasticsearch/Logstash/Kibana) or similar aggregated logging/observability frameworks.
  • Mobile Development using Ionic Framework or similar cross-platform framework.

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:

Desired:

  • Azure Administrator (AZ-104) and DevOps Engineer (AZ-400) or equivalent.

SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to design, implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps and GitLab) with quality gates and rollback strategies.
  • Ability to integrate ITSM with delivery workflows for traceability, approvals, and operational support.
  • Experience implementing aggregated logging and dashboards using ELK or similar tools; ability to build actionable alerts.
  • Ability to mentor junior team members and lead technical work streams.
  • Change management skills necessary to lead implementations that result in significant workflow changes.
  • Must comply with HIPAA Regulations and company confidentiality policies and procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot complex systems and communicate findings clearly.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization, vendors, and technical teams.
  • Proficient in technical documentation and team-based collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams).
