Description

ECS Composites is seeking a skilled and reliable CNC Machinist to join our Tooling Department. This role is responsible for the precise machining of tools, molds, jigs, and fixtures used in the production of our composite cases and enclosures. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CNC operation and programming, a sharp eye for detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • ย Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes to machine custom tooling and components to specification.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files.
  • Use precision measuring instruments to inspect parts and ensure accuracy to tolerances.
  • Adjust machine settings, tooling offsets, and programming as needed to maintain quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of machines and work areas.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, and tooling teams on tooling designs and improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and machine maintenance logs.
  • Follow all safety and company procedures and maintain a clean and organized workspace


Requirements

  • 3+ years of CNC machining experience preferred (or equivalent technical training).
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Experience with G-code, CAM software (such as Mastercam or Fusion 360), and manual machining a plus.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and troubleshoot machining problems on the fly.
  • Comfortable working with various materials such as aluminum, steel, and plastics.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
  • Experience operating manual lathes and manual mills.ย
