Job description

Title: Technical Writer III

Location: Alexandria, VA; Colorado Springs, CO

Clearance: TS/SCI with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph

Job Details:

  • Provide technical writing support to a large enterprise IT contract
  • Responsible for the preparation, review, revision, and maintenance of technical documents, including software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation
  • Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation
  • Create code documentation for software, produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities, provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation and format technical drawings
  • Collaborate with technical SME's, architects and cross-functional teams in deadline-driven environments
  • Ensure style, formatting, and terminology align with agency standards, style guides, and specialized vocabulary relevant to the subject matter
  • Write and edit executive level briefing notes
  • Demonstrate the ability to strongly collaborate and work independently, with proven ability to thrive in team environment
  • While excelling in solo tasks, demonstrate flexibility to seamlessly switch between collaborative projects and autonomous responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to the position; an additional four (4) years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in addition to education level
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly MS Word (styles, cross-references, formatting, document integration, and complex document management) Visio, Adobe Acrobat PDF creation, and file manipulation
  • Experience working in a DoD or IC environment desired
  • Current active TS/SCI clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a CI polygraph
