Job description

Technical Data Steward
Serve as the technical data steward responsible for ensuring Employee Enablement Systems data is implemented, governed, and maintained in alignment with business intent and technical standards.
โ€ข Act as Technical SME for Data Domains
o Serve as the subject matter expert for source systems and data domains, understanding application and system impacts of data decisions
o Evaluate and communicate downstream system dependencies, constraints, and impacts
โ€ข Bridge Business and Technology
o Partner closely with Business Data Stewards and Data Owners to translate business data requirements into compliant technical implementations
o Ensure alignment between business intent and technical execution
โ€ข Support Data Governance & Compliance
o Implement and enforce Data Governance policies, standards, and architectural principles across systems
o Ensure governed data is implemented, maintained, and controlled in alignment with enterprise standards
o Support audits, regulatory reviews, and remediation activities
โ€ข Drive Data Quality & Defect Resolution
o Identify root causes of data quality issues across systems and integrations
o Partner on defect resolution and provide technical evidence for closure
o Contribute to data quality metrics and reporting
โ€ข Manage Critical Data Elements (CDEs)
o Map critical data elements across source and downstream systems
o Ensure correct implementation of CDE attributes and support periodic reviews
โ€ข Maintain Metadata, Lineage & Data Catalog
o Ensure accuracy of technical metadata and end-to-end data lineage
o Support remediation of gaps identified through governance reviews or audits
o Enforce data classification, privacy, and security requirements
โ€ข Ensure Information Protection and Risk Management
o Partner with security and privacy teams to enforce data protection standards
o Identify and escalate risks related to inappropriate or unintended data usage
Minimum Qualifications:
โ€ข At least 5 years of experience in similar domain
โ€ข Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, policies, and lifecycle management
โ€ข Experience working with enterprise applications, databases, and system integrations
โ€ข Hands-on experience with data quality monitori ng, defect triage, and root cause analysis
โ€ข Knowledge of metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog concepts
โ€ข Familiarity with data privacy, security, and classification policies
โ€ข Proven ability to translate business requirements into system-level data implementations
โ€ข Strong collaboration skills across business, engineering, and governance teams
โ€ข Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, performance tuning, and report development.
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Experience supporting audit, regulatory, or compliance-driven data initiatives
โ€ข Exposure to Critical Data Elements (CDE) governance frameworks
โ€ข Experience contributing to data quality metrics, dashboards, and governance reporting
โ€ข Familiarity with enterprise data governance platforms and tooling ecosystems
โ€ข Prior experience participating in data governance councils or working groups
โ€ข Experience within financial services or other regulated industries
Advance Technical Experience (Preferred):
โ€ข Experience working with data warehousing and lake house architecture
โ€ข Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) and associated data services
โ€ข Experience with data cataloging, lineage automation, or metadata ingestion frameworks
โ€ข Knowledge of data observability tools and monitoring frameworks
โ€ข Exposure to data masking, tokenization, and sensitive data protection solutions
โ€ข Understanding of DevOps/DataOps practices and CI/CD pipelines for data systems
