Job description

The Technical Data Analyst II - Data Governance is responsible for working with data producers, consumers, and Data Platform members to investigate and document data assets throughout the Data Platform, ensuring the Platform's data assets are properly documented, discoverable, and accessible.  The position is responsible for collaborating with data producers to generate and enrich metadata for internal data assets to ensure compliance with company and government regulations. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of metadata enrichment, data lineage and data cataloging. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering Data Governance for the Data Platform.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with data producers to produce high quality metadata for Data Platform assets
  • Determine and document data classification types for tables/fields
  • Use the Atlan data cataloging tool to enrich and organize metadata
  • Document lineages, classifications, and privacy controls according to company/governmental standards
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to uncover and document metadata information
  • Determine and document ownership over data assets and flows and work with Data Stewards to present this information to leadership and other teams in a clear and accessible manner
  • Review incoming data assets to make sure they meet Data Platform standards

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mathematics, Statistics, Engineering healthcare, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of Data Analysis
  • 2+ Years of Data Governance experience, including metadata management
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Knowledge/ Experience with data architecture

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Hands-on experience with Data Catalog solutions; Atlan is a plus
  • Experience with Snowflake architecture
  • Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and processing; AWS is a plus
  • Experience with reporting software such as Tableau, PowerBI, Sigma etc.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance principles and data management concepts.
  • Experience with healthcare or supply chain data
  • Familiarity with data regulations such as HIPAA, GDPR, etc
  • Ability to reduce complex designs and concepts to simple foundational components
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Estimated Salary Range for this position: $65,000 to $81,000

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
