Job description

The Account Manager, Commercial Manufacturing will drive the expansion of Seran's commercial manufacturing portfolio for oral solid drug products by identifying, qualifying, and securing highvalue opportunities. The Account Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and existing clients, guiding them from initial engagement through term sheet negotiation, commercial supply agreement execution, and ongoing account management. This role will ensure each opportunity aligns with Seran's technical capabilities, service offerings, and strategic growth objectives. Primary responsibilities will be to maintain strong client relationships throughout the commercial manufacturing lifecycle to support successful project execution and optimize utilization of Seran's commercial manufacturing capacity.  

This role will join a highly skilled Business Development team that is strategically located throughout North America. Successful candidates will have clear communication within pharmaceutical development and manufacturing and remain within their preferred region, but will require travel to company headquarters in Bend, Oregon and client sites as needed.  Preference will be given to those with international Business Development and Account Management experience for commercial manufacturing.  

 
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new commercial manufacturing opportunities for oral solid drug products
  • Build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospects aligned with Seran's technical capabilities and capacity strategy
  • Conduct initial technical and commercial assessments to ensure strong project fit
  • Lead the development and negotiation of term sheets and commercial supply agreements
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned commercial accounts, ensuring a highquality client experience
  • Develop strong, trustbased relationships with key stakeholders at client organizations
  • Communicate project status, timelines, risks, and decisions clearly and proactively
  • Support longterm client retention and growth through strategic account planning
  • Guide clients through the commercial manufacturing lifecycle-from onboarding and tech transfer through validation, launch, and ongoing supply
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (technical operations, quality, supply chain, finance, legal) to ensure smooth project execution
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks or bottlenecks, and drive timely resolution
  • Ensure commercial commitments, deliverables, and quality expectations are met
  • Coordinate internal review and approval of commercial proposals, pricing, and contract terms
  • Manage renewals, amendments, and longterm supply agreements as client needs evolve
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and demand planning to support capacity utilization
  • Provide market insights and customer feedback to inform commercial strategy and capacity planning
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, pipeline reporting, and revenue forecasting
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes, tools, and client engagement practices
  • Support crossfunctional initiatives that enhance Seran's commercial manufacturing capabilities and competitiveness
  • Scope my increase to align with company initiatives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned  
Required Skills and Experience
  • Strong understanding of oral solid dose (OSD) drug development and commercial manufacturing processes
  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements, quality systems, and regulatory expectations
  • Ability to interpret technical data, batch records, and manufacturing requirements
  • Familiarity with tech transfer, validation, and commercial supply operations
  • Proven ability to manage complex accounts and longcycle commercial relationships
  • Experience negotiating term sheets, pricing, and commercial supply agreements
  • Strong financial acumen, including forecasting, revenue planning, and capacity management
  • Skilled in opportunity qualification and pipeline management

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in a related scientific discipline, business, or marketing
  • 3-7 years in account management, business development, or clientfacing roles within a CDMO, pharmaceutical, or biotech environment
  • Experience supporting or managing commercialstage drug products (preferred)
  • Background in oral solid dose manufacturing or related pharmaceutical operations (preferred)
Physical Requirement
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times
  • Approximately 25% of travel required, and at times greater than 50%
  • Travel will be predominately domestic with the potential for international travel
