Job description

About S1 Technology

S1 Technology is the fastest growing strategic Managed IT Services & Cybersecurity provider in the state. We hold ourselves to a very high standard in customer experience, technical expertise, quality of work, and work culture.

Our IT Internship Program (S1ITIP) is designed to give college students real-world experience, structured training, and a clear path to grow from beginner to near‐professional level while completing their degree.

What You’ll Do

As a Technical Consultant Intern, you will support the MSP, Project, and other S1 internal teams to gain exposure to multiple areas of the departments over time. Your specific duties will vary by team, but may include:

  • Assisting with day-to-day IT support tasks assigned by your supervisor.
  • Participating in hardware and software setup, basic troubleshooting, and documentation of tickets and tasks.
  • Learning and following S1 Technology policies, procedures, security, and confidentiality standards.
  • Shadowing team members across different IT functions to understand how the department operates.
  • Progressing into more autonomous work as you demonstrate strong task and time management, critical thinking, and technical skills.

Interns move through a structured program, gaining higher levels of responsibility, autonomy, and trust at each level.

What We Offer

This internship is intentionally built as a learning and career‐building experience, not just a job.

You will receive:

  • Paid internship for the duration of the program.
  • Formal onboarding, orientation, and ongoing training, including supervised hands‐on work and shadowing opportunities.
  • Regular one-on-one supervision, mentoring, and quarterly performance evaluations focused on your growth.
  • A detailed letter of recommendation and final evaluation upon successful completion of the internship.

Schedule and Work Environment

We know you are balancing school and work, and we treat this as a professional role that prepares you for full‐time IT work.

  • While attending school: minimum of 30 hours per pay period.
  • When not attending school: extended hours available as approved by your supervisor.
  • Standard working hours are between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday–Friday; Interns may be approved for some weekend hours if business needs and goals are defined in advance.
  • Punctuality and attendance are heavily emphasized; repeated tardiness or falsification of time records may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Who We’re Looking For

Minimum requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in an associate’s, bachelor’s, or master’s degree program at an accredited college or university.
  • At least 18 years of age prior to starting the internship.
  • Interested in an IT career and willing to invest in developing professional skills over a multi‐semester internship.

Preferred qualities:

  • Strong interest in information technology, problem solving, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to follow procedures, manage time, and communicate clearly.
  • Comfortable taking initiative when work is slow and seeking out additional tasks or learning opportunities.

Growth and Evaluation

Throughout your internship you will:

  • Work with designated supervisors and mentors who provide regular feedback and support.
  • Participate in quarterly evaluations that focus on your performance, collaboration, potential, and readiness for promotion to higher tiers.
  • Set and track learning goals, including technical skills, professional behavior, and contribution to the team.

At the end of the internship, you will receive a final evaluation and letter of recommendation, and you will provide feedback on your internship experience to help us improve the program.
