Job description


PURPOSE

The Stratus Specialist is a key operational and technical role focused on supporting fabrication workflows and maximizing the value of the Stratus platform. This individual will be responsible for onboarding, training, troubleshooting, reporting, and integration tasks that directly support the fabrication team. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for learning software quickly, experience in manufacturing or construction technology workflows, and the ability to work cross-functionally to streamline digital fabrication and data-driven decision making. This role requires close collaboration with the fabrication and VDC teams and reports directly to the Director of VDC.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The following duties are typical for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Stratus Implementation and Support

  • Serve as the internal expert on the Stratus platform and primary support contact for fabrication teams.
  • Assist with the setup and configuration of Stratus to align with company fabrication processes and standards.
  • Provide hands-on training and ongoing support for fabrication, VDC, and field users to ensure efficient use of Stratus tools and workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve user issues, system errors, and workflow challenges within Stratus.

Reporting & Analytics:

  • Create, maintain, and distribute custom reports using Stratus reporting features to track key fabrication and project KPIs (e.g., productivity, progress, package status, cut lists).
  • Ensure reports are accurate, relevant, and aligned with business objectives.
  • Interpret data insights for internal stakeholders and assist in decision-making based on performance metrics.

API Integration & Data Management:

  • Utilize Stratus’s open API to gather key performance data and integrate with internal systems or dashboards (Power BI, SQL stores, etc.).
  • Develop, test, and maintain API scripts or automation workflows that pull data efficiently and securely.
  • Collaborate with IT, VDC, and process engineering to expand data-driven workflows.

Training and Documentation:

  • Develop training materials, process documentation, and best practices guides for Stratus usage.
  • Maintain clear, organized documentation of system configurations, workflows, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Lead training sessions and workshops for new and existing users.

Collaboration and Coordination:

  • Partner with Fabrication, VDC, Engineering, and Project Management teams to align Stratus configuration with operational needs.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for process improvements and potential feature enhancements.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience:
    • Five years of practical experience with fabrication, construction technology workflows, or software support roles.
    • Familiarity with Stratus software is a plus but not required; strong aptitude for learning new applications is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency with data reporting tools and experience generating meaningful analytics.
    • Comfortable working with APIs and extracting data via REST or similar interfaces.
    • Solid understanding of databases, data structures, and basic scripting (Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, etc.).
    • Experience with Autodesk products (Revit, AutoCAD, ESTmep, CAMduct) is a plus.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially for training and support.
    • Detail-oriented with strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting digital fabrication or MEP workflows.
  • Prior experience in construction technology, VDC, or BIM fabrication environments.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI).
  • Comfortable interpreting and documenting technical processes for diverse audiences.

  • May have occasional visits to a job site which would require periods of standing, walking and/or climbing stairs
