Job Summary: 

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented System Configuration Lead to oversee the lifecycle of our IT systems and software configurations. You will be the central authority on tracking system assets and enforcing configuration standards. The ideal candidate ensures all hardware, software, and documentation are accurately baseline-defined and seamlessly integrated. This position requires a self-motivated and driven professional, ready for engagement in a small team environment and willing to consider diverse task load.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Configuration Management: Establish and maintain robust configuration management policies, procedures, and strategies aligned with industry best practices.
  • Asset & Data Tracking: Oversee initial data consolidation and stand-up of Configuration Management tracking tools, ensuring accurate recording and tracking of all Configuration Items (CIs), hardware components, and software versions.
  • Change Control: Manage the change management process, ensuring all system changes, upgrades, and patches are properly documented, tested, and authorized before deployment.
  • Audits & Compliance: Conduct regular configuration audits and compliance assessments to identify risks, validate data integrity, and ensure adherence to security and regulatory standards.
  • Release Management: Support and improve the release installation process by automating software build and deployment strategies
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate configuration and change board meetings, prepare status reports, and maintain clear communication between cross-functional teams (Development, QA, IT Operations, and management).


Qualifications: 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field
  • Experience: 3+ years of professional experience in configuration management, systems administration, or a closely related role within IT infrastructure
  • Clearance Requirement: Active TS with SCI eligibility
  • Required Technical Skills:
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools (Jira, Version1, GitLab)
  • Experience with CI/CD and software automation and deployment tools (Gradle, Maven, Nexus)
  • Proficiency with version control and database management tools (e.g. Version 1, Git, GitLab)
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux/Unix environments and scripting languages
  • Required Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication abilities


Work Environment/Physical Requirements: 

  • Office environment with occasional on-site work in data centers or with hardware systems.
  • May require after-hours or weekend work to address critical system issues or deployments.
  • Some travel may be necessary to support system installations or meet with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work at a desk and operate a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional lifting of IT equipment or hardware components (up to 25 lbs).

Work Schedule: 

This is a full-time position, typically working 40 hours per week. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
