The R&D Technical Associate supports laboratory synthesis, analytical testing, technical service, and manufacturing activities (including plant trials) to assist scientists in maintaining and growing the business across target market segments. The role requires strict adherence to safety protocols and a commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct all laboratory activities in compliance with well-defined safety, health, and environmental standards.
  • Monitor lab operations to ensure adherence to safety regulations; lead safety-related initiatives when appropriate.
  • Independently plan, set up, and execute small experimental projects by selecting appropriate methods and gathering necessary technical information.
  • Ensure high-quality data generation and meet project timelines and deliverables.
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; coordinate and troubleshoot experimental setups and specialized equipment as needed.
  • Process, organize, and evaluate experimental data using prior studies, literature references, and basic statistical analysis to support both individual and team efforts.
  • Contribute to the development and preparation of technical reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Product Information Forms (PIFs), and Product & Process Descriptions (P&PDs).
  • Provide technical input and communicate results to internal customers and manufacturing partners under the guidance of a supervisor; participate in customer meetings as required.
  • Mentor and train junior team members, fostering a learning-focused environment.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills
  • Broad understanding of underlying scientific concepts related to the experimental work
  • Ability to formulate the experimental program in detail; troubleshoot and modify as needed
  • Ability to conduct routine presentations and adequately answer ad hoc questions

Education, Certifications & Licenses
  • HS Diploma + 8 years relevant experience OR
  • Associate Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering/MLO/MBO Vocational Background + 6 years relevant experience OR
  • Bachelor of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Engineering + 4 years relevant experience OR
  • Entry level Master of Science
