As an Associate Buyer:
  • You are responsible for relationship building and management for specific vendor lines. You procure products at aggressive pricing by artfully negotiating through multiple sources.
  • You participate in new contract terms and pricing for new products and vendors. Additionally, you act as an agent for the company for SKU creation and maintenance, internal problem resolution, and investigating and resolving product packaging and receiving issues.

Primary Job Duties:
  • Track and manage virtual and/or drop ship inventory to support sales and web activity.
  • Maintain SKU status to support sales and web activity.
  • Negotiate the lowest cost possible.
  • Expedite purchase orders and update ETAโ€™s.
  • Work on price protection claims and follow through with necessary sell price changes.
  • Review vendor & distributor promotions.
  • Analyze and take action as necessary on backorder reports.
  • Evaluate non-productive SKUs.
  • Resolve product-packaging issues.
  • Resolve receiving issues.
  • Obtain return authorizations for stock rotations and customer returns.
  • Communicate with Sales, Tech Support, Returns, Credit, A/P, Finance, I/S, Customer Service, Receiving, Ad Production, Supply Chain, and Management.
  • Respond to internal communication through Connection's Call Tracker/Case Management system.
  • Work with Product Marketing Managers in product consideration.
  • Order product for evaluation where applicable.
Required Job Competencies:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to create a document or simple spreadsheet.
