If you are looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Based in our Cranberry Township, PA location, you will be part of the Educational Services department which teaches Ovation distributed control system (DCS) product to our customers in the Power Generation and Water/Wastewater Treatment industries.
This is an excellent opportunity to learn our product which requires installing Microsoftยฎ Windowsยฎ based software and Ovation software on Dell workstations, creating a fast-Ethernet network with Cisco switches and routers, and adding our Ovation Controllers. This position teaches customers how to use our software and hardware applications.
In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Conduct in-house training in Pittsburgh, PA and at customer locations across North America. A state-of-the-art training facility is at your disposal.
  • Deliver custom training programs to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Coordinate and develop new course outlines, instructor guide plans, and training aids for Ovation courses.
  • Review and monitor classroom instructional performance, course content, and customer satisfaction data surveys.
  • Develop procedures to maintain and upgrade new and existing Ovation training software and hardware systems.
  • Work effectively with Field Engineers, Sales/Software Engineering, and Project Engineering personnel.

You effectively communicate in various settings: one-on-one, small, and large groups, or among diverse styles and position levels. You seek feedback from more than one source and analyze areas needing improvement. You build strong customer relationships.
For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or similar technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of basic presentation techniques and current computing technologies
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40%
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
  • Prior experience conducting technical training in the Power Generation and Water/Wastewater Treatment industries
  • Knowledge of teaching techniques acquired through work experience or formal education
