Job description

Job Title: Technical Associate (Lighting, Audio & Special Effects) 

Department: Haunted Camelbeach Attractions

Reports to: Technical Supervisor

Create the atmosphere that makes every scare unforgettable! As a Technical Associate, you'll operate lighting, sound, fog, and special effects while ensuring all technical systems perform safely and consistently throughout each event.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate lighting, sound, fog, atmospheric effects, and show control systems.
  • Perform daily equipment inspections before opening.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues during operation.
  • Coordinate show timing with actors and stage crew.
  • Maintain equipment and report repair needs.
  • Assist with installation and removal of seasonal technical equipment.
  • Monitor attraction safety while operating special effects.
  • Follow all operating procedures for electrical and theatrical equipment.
  • Comply with all Company and departmental safety standards.
  • Follow Company dress code.
  • Adhere to the Customer Service Standards of Camelback Resort and all Company policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Follow seasonal and daily Service Guidelines and Checklists.
  • Communicate effectively with all Camelback Resort team members.
  • Actively support all Company initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Experience with theatrical lighting, audio, or special effects preferred but not required.
  • Basic troubleshooting and technical aptitude required.
  • Ability to safely operate electrical equipment.
  • Comfortable working in dark environments and around fog and theatrical effects.
  • Weekend, evening, and holiday availability required.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be able to speak and read the English language.
