Job description

Our client is seeking a Technical Sales/Mechanical Engineer (Manufacturing) to support the Sales organization as a technical resource, helping customers understand product capabilities, reviewing engineering requirements, and ensuring proposed solutions align with manufacturing feasibility. The role blends mechanical/application engineering with customer-facing technical sales support.

Responsibilities:

  • Support order entry and coordinate with operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery.
  • Follow up on quotes and proposals to help advance opportunities and support revenue goals.
  • Maintain clear, timely communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and issue resolution.
  • Update CRM systems with accurate records of customer interactions, quotes, and project activity.
  • Assist with outbound follow-ups and sales initiatives by providing technical context and support.
  • Collaborate with customer engineering/design teams to clarify requirements and resolve technical questions.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the Sales team during customer engagements via phone, email, and web.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and product configurations based on customer inputs and engineering constraints.
  • Review customer drawings, specifications, and application requirements to provide accurate technical recommendations.
  • Participate in customer meetings, conference calls, trade shows, and occasional site visits to support project development.
  • Work closely with internal engineering, production, and operations teams to ensure manufacturable solutions and timely order fulfillment.

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Customer-focused mindset with proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools (HubSpot or similar)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related technical field.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer-facing interactions.
